Design Process: Getting Started

• Developing the Vision– Clarify design intention and provide

recommendations for room setup/use, paint color, furniture, window treatments, artwork, lighting, carpet/flooring, plants, home/office accessories, etc.

– Provide concept boards and renderings (by request)

• Determine scope of project

• Develop project plan and estimate for design services

Design Process: Implementation

• Select contractors/subs; provide individual estimates; coordinate and manage

• Research/specify products via magazines, visits to design studios, showrooms, paint stores, wholesalers/retailers, etc.; present options & estimates to client

• Procure furniture, paint, carpet/flooring, wall décor, lighting, desk accessories, plants, etc. as needed and manage deliveries/installations

• Track progress; submit monthly timesheets for design services and itemized invoices for products/suppliers/vendors/contractors
