Students must study! (Not Easy)

No PSSA Test

Science & Social Studies

Various study techniques - study guides, vocabulary games, outlining, experiments, etc. Tests – take-home open book / in-class

open & closed book Students must study! Homework rarely (depends on class) Tests and Projects are 100% of grade

Homework - Continued

Students must take responsibility to complete all homework assignments on time & write down after every class

Missed Assignments – weekly behavior slip will be noted & students will complete during recess, points may be deducted from grade

Students must study for tests!

Absent Work

Receive upon return to school the next day

Pick up in the office between 3:30-4:00 PM

Send home with another student (must call or email first thing in the morning)

Graded Papers & Assignment Books

Tests sent home when graded in students’ take home folder – Return with parent signature

Assignment book and S.T.A.R. Behavior Communication Report must be signed every Friday

– check on Monday STUDENTS’ RESPONSIBILITY

School-Wide Positive Behavior Support Program

Behavior Expectations – students were explicitly taught expected behaviors in the classroom, hallway, cafeteria, bus, arrival/dismissal, playground, bathroom, and classroom S.T.A.R.Tickets - given to students for demonstrating expected behaviors - students are responsible for keeping their

tickets - tickets can be saved or cashed in for prizes

Incentives

STAR Gazers – given by other teachers & in cafeteria for STAR behavior

Monthly Incentive Day – students with 3 or fewer behavior checkmarks

Marble Jar – class earns fun celebration of teacher’s choice (ex: PJ day, Hat day)

Miscellaneous PTA MembershipsPTA Memberships – only $6 – sponsors family fun activities Band/Orchestra – students are

responsible for all missed work, can miss a lesson due to tests, review for tests, or students not academically proficient
