Media Guidelines and ProceduresBrad Domitrovich

Director of School and Community Relations

Why should a school district

adopt media guidelines and procedures?

We can educate the

community about our

successes by working

very closely with our

local and regional

media outlets.

Many school districts

already have media

guidelines and

procedures in place.

Having a media policy

in place does not

mean that we are

trying to censor or

control our message.

It’s important that as

the district grows we

treat all media in a

fair and equitable

manner.

It’s important that

we ensure the safety

of our students.

It’s important to keep

media surprises to an

absolute minimum.

What’s our purpose for having

media guidelines and procedures?

They're designed

to promote

the success of our

students and staff.

They're designed

to keep school day

interruptions to a

minimum.

They're designed

to keep

student safety

at the forefront.

One of the thingsyou’ll hear me say is ...

“I’m not here to be a filter,

I’m here to act as a funnel.”

Any questions now?
