• Marrickville Road was part of the farms and grazing areas of the Wardell Estate

• 1880’s the population grew• 1895- railway link from Belmore to

Bankstown• 1914- Fire station opened• 1915- St Brigid’s Church opened• By 1919 the road is the centre of the

municipality
