DESCRIPTION

Students at Boeckman Middle School in Farmington, Minnesota combined some learning with lunch recently at a special event in the media center.

TRANSCRIPT

LUNCH WITH AN INVENTOR BOECKMAN MIDDLE SCHOOL – FEBRUARY 2013

Students brought their lunch into the media center for the presentation.

Author and Inventor Doug Cornelius kept the presentation moving, demonstrating various Minnesota inventions and innovations.

Here’s an example of some of the inventions featured. His father Dick Cornelius revolutionized the self-service beverage industry, here shown with an earlier model and another popular beverage dispenser still in use today!

Cornelius authored “Good News – I Failed” A story of Inventing in Minnesota. The book is intended to inspire the students to see new possibilities and create a

culture where it is okay to fail in pursuit of improvements.

The Boeckman Media Center was able to weave in some learning time along with lunch around a topic of interest to students.
