Introduction

We are so busy growing up

We often forget……………….

They are also growing old

Our parents are the ones who have been with us through almost

everywhere in our lives.

Our parents, list a few things, take care of us, teach us, help

us, and provide for us financially and academically.

Young people ignore their parents, rather spending

time with their friends

As they get older, we tend to forget that our parents are growing

older as well, and they are pushed aside to living on their own or

in nursing homes while we start our own families.

What is old home?An old age home is usually the place, a home for those old people who have no one to

look after them or those who have been thrown out of their homes by their children.

Advantages of old homes

1.Old age homes are meant for senior citizens who are unable to stay with their families or are

destitute. They have special medical facilities for senior citizens. So they can live a healthy life

2. Good services and good behavior of the staff, food being palatable and wholesome are the

main advantage of old age homes.

3. Apart from food, shelter and medical amenities, old age homes also provide yoga classes

to senior citizens. Old age homes also provide access to telephones and other forms of

communication so that residents may keep in touch with their loved ones.

4. The entertainment and library facilities are also available for the sole purpose of the senior citizens.

5. For older people who have nowhere to go and no one to support them, old age homes provide a

safe haven.

6. In old age homes, old people have a lot of free time, so they can utilize it creatively.

7. They usually do not have to work in an old age home to earn and do not have lot of

duties to perform.

8. They can also pursue any hobbies in a very peaceful atmosphere.

9. - They don't have big expectations. They do not have to spend money a lot.

10. - Old people live peacefully and slowly. Old people can live peacefully and

healthily in an old age home.

Disadvantages and Effects of Old age Homes:

1.In the old age home men became disabled earlier as physically and mentally, they are

detached from society and also their respective family members.

2.At the old age , everybody desire to get the affection from their family members, at the

old age home they deprive from the sweet relation . They debarred from present social

affairs and society, When the men completely helpless from the consideration and

affection then they seek old age home.

3.The old age home is separation between the family members.

4.This is curse on our society that put the old men in the old age home.

The next generation skipped from their respective duties to their old

family members.

5.Children tend to dump their old parents, Old values and morals get

compromised. The old people feel neglected and miss their families. Children

become deprived of the wisdom of grandparents

SOLUTIONSBe aware of, and appreciate all the things that your parents do for you

from day to day, month to month, year to year

“NEVER" be afraid of discussing problems.

Avoid arguments with them.

Remember that one of the most important things you can

do for your parents is to be a loving person.

Talk to them regularly.

Include your parents in your family activities.
