people are posing for photos on the crossingwhich featured on the cover of the band’s fi-

nal album Abbey Road.And Westminster City Council has raised

safety fears over the thousands of people whovisit the site in St John’s Wood. Councillorshave also raised concerns about buses car-rying tourists causing traffic congestion bydouble-parking or parking on yellow lines.

A Westminster City Council spokeswomansaid it was discussing options to manage thebusy traffic flow, including the possibility ofemploying a lollipop lady or man.

She added,“Local Abbey Road ward coun-cillors raised their residents’concerns aboutthe number of tourists spilling into the road

and traffic near the crossing at the height ofthe summer season, and put forward vari-ous suggestions, asking the city council toreview pedestrian safety and crowd man-agement. However, no proposals have beenagreed by the council, nor the review com-pleted.”Lollipop lady set for Abbey Road?
