Common part replacements and errors

• LVPS/HVPS

–No power, 922.08 fuser error, 923.01 fuser error, print quality problems

• Media feed ACM Clutch

–200.13 or 200.20 paper jams, when printer jams with the leading edge of a second pager overlapping the trailing edge of the first page at the input sensor.

–Special (new) procedure for replacement

• Fuser

–Repeated paper jams at the fuser, print quality, 920.00 – 925.xx error codes

Common part replacements and errors

• ACM assembly

–241.xx paper feed errors, replace the pick tires if worn or dirty, replace the assembly if it is damaged or for mechanical problems

• Transfer roll

–917.xx errors, print quality problems

• Controller board

–902.xx engine software error, 948.xx – 960.xx errors

• PC kit

–Print quality, exhausted or damaged

• Cartridge

–Exhausted , unrecognized or damaged

LV/HVPS removal

• Remove the rear cover first

• Remove the foot on the bottom of the printer

• Remove 4 screws holding securing the shield

• 2 on the bottom of the printer

• 2 on the back of the printer

LV/HVPS removal

• Lift the right side of the LV/HVPS and unplug 3 cables

• Remove 2 cables from the left side

• Remove the power supply

Media Feed Clutch

Remove these parts first:

• Right cover

• Left cover

• Rear cover

• Disconnect the exit sensor from the controller board

Fuser removal

Remove these parts to get to the fuser

• Right cover

• Left cover

• Top cover

• Rear cover

• Rear exit guide

Follow steps for removal in the service procedures

ACM (pick mechanism) removal

Transfer Roll removal

Remove these parts first

• Toner cartridge

• PC kit

• Squeeze the release tabs on the holder arms on the right side and lift this end up.

NOTE: the spring on the right side is not tethered to the frame and may be lost.

• Repeat for the left side.

NOTE: the spring is tethered to the left side.

Transfer roll removal

• Lift the roller out of the printer

NOTE: After installing the transfer roller; it should spring back

when pushed down in the center or on both ends. If it does

not then reseat the roller or poor print quality will result.

Controller board

Remove these parts first:

• Right cover

Follow steps for removal in the service procedures

Combined LVPS/HVPS

This is a combined unit as

opposed to two separate

units as in lots of other laser

printers.

Common error codes relating

to the power supply include:

920.00, .08, .20- 921.00, .01- 922.00,

.08, .09, .20, .21- 923.00, .01- 925.00,

.02- 940.00, .01, .02, .03

• Remove the rear cover

• Remove the right rear foot

asm.

PC Kit

• The PC Kit contains the

photoconductor and

charge roll

• It will usually last through

2 toner cartridges

• If it becomes scratched,

pitted or dirty it will leave

repeating marks on the

printer’s pages

• The counter must be

reset in the configuration

menu when replacing the

pc kit
