You already know about direct object pronouns
(me, te, lo, la, nos, os, los, las)
They are used when the subject and the direct object are different.
If the subject and the direct object are the same, we use reflexive pronouns:
me, te, se, nos, os, se
La ve.
He sees her.
Se ve.
He sees himself.
Get it….reflexive….he sees himself….a mirror is reflective…..
How will I know which ones are reflexive?
How come some verbs are reflexive and others aren’t?
So how do I conjugate reflexive verbs?
The infinitive will always have a “se” attached to the end ie: lavarse
(Who knows?!)
Just like you do with direct object pronouns, only the conjugation
matches the pronoun:
Me lavo las manos antes de comer.
Me voy a duchar después de correr.or
Voy a ducharme después de correr.
1) If there’s only one (conjugated) verb, put the reflexive pronoun before the conjugated verb.
2) If there’s two verbs, place the pronoun before the conjugated verb or attach it to the end of the infinitive.
All verbs can be reflexiveHOWEVER
reflexive verbsALWAYS
use a reflexive pronounUNLESS
the subject and the direct object are different

Me gusta algo siempre.
In Spanish, once you go negative you stay negative!
No me gusta nada nunca. Nunca me gusta nada.
In English, we are taught never to use more than one negative expression in a phrase…
to bore
to bother/annoy
to lack
to be left over; to fit (clothing)
to fascinateto interest
to be important; to matter
to like very much; to love (an
inanimate object)
