BREAKING THE LAW•Shoplift: to take

something from a store without paying for it

•Pickpocket: (v) to steal from someone’s pocket/ (n) a thief who steals from someone’s pocket

•Vandalize: to destroy a private/public property e.g. walls, pay phones, park benches

•Vandalism: (n) an act of destroying properties

•Form groups of 5

•Write 3 sentences of clues to describe the movie you have in mind

•The rest of the class tries to guess the title of the movie

WORKING ON SOLVING A CRIME WITH CLUES

•Clue - an object, a piece of information, or a reason that helps you find an answer to a problem or solve a crime

•Evidence - facts, objects, or signs that make you believe something exists or is true

•Get into trouble - to be in a situation where someone in authority is likely to punish you

•Receipt - a piece of paper that shows that you paid for or received something

•Safe - deposit box - a small box used for keeping valuable objects, usually in a special room in a bank
