WorkWhen a force applied to an object, moves that object.

PowerThe rate at which work is done; the amount of work done per time it takes to do it.

ForceSomething that causes a change in the motion of an object, measured in Newtons.

Applied ForceThe force with which an object has been pushed or pulled by another object.

Balanced ForceWhen two forces acting on an object are equal in size but act in opposite directions.

Unbalanced ForceForces that cause a change in the motion of an object because one force is of lesser magnitude than the other.

EnergyAnything that can change the condition of matter. Commonly defined as the ability to do work.

Kinetic EnergyEnergy of motion.

Potential EnergyThe stored energy that an object possesses because of its position with respect to other objects.

MotionChange in the position of an object.

MassThe amount of matter in an object.

SpeedThe time rate at which distance is covered by a moving object.

ProportionalHaving a constant ratio to another quantity.

LinearA relationship in which increasing or decreasing one variable will cause a corresponding increase or decrease in the other variable too.
