Kickers Autumn Winter 2012 Footwear Lookbook

TRANSCRIPT

AUTUMN/WINTER

2012

The Kickers Autumn Winter 2012 men’s footwear collection reflects Kickers’ rich heritage, bringing the brand’s classic silhouettes up-to-date with fashion-focused styles, materials and techniques.

This season introduces the Kick Lite, a super-lightweight high-top boot which combines an EVA sole with durable canvas upper in classic black or navy. Most notably on this style, Kickers launches the ‘Arising from the Flames’ logo emphasising the re-ignition of Kickers fire and passion to stride forward.

Forward-thinking design meets timeless styling as the Kick Stylee makes a comeback for Autumn in ultra-modern black on black design with flashes of royal blue.

The essence of authentic Kickers heritage products with subtle modern undertones, the Urbo collection features a trapper and ankle boot in premium high grade leathers with sharp branding.

Never forgetting where Kickers comes from, this season sees the classic heritage boot the Kick Hi M designed with luxurious oxblood leathers and nubuck colourways.

The Kickers Autumn Winter 2012 women’s footwear collection introduces Kickers’ authentic ‘Royal’ print design. Available in the Kick Flock, the baroque effect is reminiscent of flock wallpaper and comes in rich burgundy.

Understated and arguably the most modern additions to the women’s collection are the Taltrap and Talhike. Both styles are designed with premium nubuck uppers and an unconventional wool ankle collar sitting on a crepe textured block heel.

Perfect for winter evenings are the Aelgar boots, designed in super soft suede with rich autumnal shades.

With the Kick Hi taking pride of place in the collection as ever, this season sees Kickers turn cosy as the Kick Winter introduces fur lining to the classic flat boot.

Meanwhile a brogue version of the iconic silhouette with Kick Brogue W, and a quirky lace-up shoe version with Kick Lo Brogue, offers a unique interpretation of an Autumn trend in a way that only Kickers knows how.

Kick Hi: Born in 1975

From Rock‘N’Roll to Brit Pop to Garage and Grime, The Kick Hi has strolled through four decades of UK youth culture without a hint of wear and tear.

The most iconic shoe ever designed by Kickers, the Kick Hi was created by Daniel Raufast and Jacques Chevallereau, hitting London’s music scene when Kickers opened a store on London’s famous Kings Road in 1975. Icons attracting icons; the style soon found its way onto the feet of rock stars including Roger Daltrey, Pete Townsend and David Bowie.

Born from a ‘blue jean’ generation, the Kick Hi fused together innovative shoe design and the construction of denim. Details including triple stitching tab branding and engraved eyelets were integral to the original design and are now infamous to the Kickers brand identity.

Moving into the early 1990s, the Kick Hi became associated with the ‘Madchester’ rave scene and the Hacienda nightclub. Frontman Ian Brown famously wore a pair to the club to avoid the ‘no trainer’ policy prompting The Stone Roses to sport the style in their music video for ‘Fools Gold’. Appropriated by So Solid Crew in the early 2000s, they have since been spotted on Ms Dynamite, Jarvis Cocker, the Gallaghers and more recently Mike Skinner, The Arctic Monkeys and The Kaiser Chiefs. A new generation of Kick Hi fans is emerging as we march towards 2013 ensuring the future of the style is as pertinent as its past.
