E-TASC (Electronics – Tool for Accountable Supply Chains) is a web-based tool utilized
by companies to manage their own factories, communicate with their customers,
and assess their suppliers on corporate responsibility risks. It is based on a
comprehensive set of ethics, labour rights, health and safety, and environmental
criteria.
Launched by GeSI and the EICC at the end of 2007, it already has more than 750
subscribers and over 1,400 facilities in the system.

� Asbestos survey
� Air Emissions Inventory
� Electronic Wastes (E-Waste)
� A list of asbestos containing materials in the facility should be maintained.
� Ensure the nature and volume of all air emissions have been identified, characterized and documented. A formal review and revision to this estimate is required for all significant process additions or modifications
� Computers, monitors, circuit boards, and any other electronics waste containing solder, or precious metals must be recycled. Landfill disposal is prohibited.
� Verify the recycler is certified to handle the waste and does not export the waste for disposal.

� Chemical control
� Those generated during response to an injury should be collected and disposed following local regulatory requirements
� Information should be added to the Waste Management Plan.
� Ensure all contractors and visitors provide sufficient information (usually an MSDS) to adequately protect themselves and employees against the hazards of any chemicals that they propose to bring into a Belden facility .
� This information should be added to the Supplier procedure

hazards training for all employees
� • Initial Training to inform the
employee of the facility’s hazard communication program;
� • Job Specific Training to inform the employee of the specific
chemical hazards associated
with their job and methods of protecting themselves; and
� • Refresher Training to be conducted whenever a new
hazardous chemical is introduced into the work place

� Case sharing
� Confined space program
� The information collected should be sent to the Belden regional EHS contact responsible for the facility (Europe, Asia, U.S.) for possible sharing with other facilities and Belden's corporate management. Information on future recordable injuries should be sent.
� Each Belden facility is required to identify and label all Confined Spaces and Permit Required Confined Spaces. Signs/labels must read "Confined Space - Do not enter" or "Danger - Permit Required Confined Space Do Not Enter", or similar language . Confined spaces need to be labeled including pits in the compound area.
� If permit required confined spaces are identified, and employees or contractors will be expected to enter the space for any reason, then a written Confined Space Program must be developed and implemented for the facility. The program should include all of the elements in the standard.
