All these paintings were completed in 2018.It was a crazy and pretty bloody fabulous year!For Purple House the highlight was that we secured ongoing funding for remote dialysis through Medicare for the first time.We grew and celebrated and planned and cherished each other and what we have created together.We helped 170 people get home to their remote communities on dialysis and provided support and hope in town for those who didn’t.I got sick of the sound of my own voice and VERY sick of seeing my picture in the media. (Great face for radio!)Painting and that time alone became more important, but also more difficult to find!This year I got to explore some country I don’t know as well as Alice and Kintore. Trips to Ernabella (Pukatja) and Docker River feature in the show as well as classic Kintore and ghost gums! Long periods of dry weather this year had us all dreaming of rain in the desert. It came eventually with magnificent drippy cloudy skies. If you are wondering about the title … you will have to ask Mr Johnstone. It was his idea!SARAH BROWN 2019
