CHAPTER ONE: WHAT WEEPING

O’ JERUSALEM, JERUSALEM, THE SHORTEST VERSE IN THE BIBLE. (John 11:35) Jesus wept.

THE SHORTEST VERSE IN THE BIBLE, JOHN 11:35 “JESUS WEPT” WHAT A SCENE JESUS WEEPS OVER JERUSALEM “WHAT ABOUT TODAY” (Luke 19:41-44) And when he was come near, he

beheld the city, and wept over it, Saying, If thou

hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day,

the things which belong unto thy peace! but now

they are hid from thine eyes. For the days shall

come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a

trench about thee, and compass thee round, and

keep thee in on every side, And shall lay thee even

with the ground, and thy children within thee; and

they shall not leave in thee one stone upon

another; because thou knewest not the time of thy

visitation.

(Matthew 23:37-39) O Jerusalem, Jerusalem,

thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them

3

which are sent unto thee, how often would I have

gathered thy children together, even as a hen

gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye

would not! Behold, your house is left unto you

desolate. For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me

henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that

cometh in the name of the Lord.

JESUS WEEPS AS THE DISCIPLES SLEEP. (Luke 22:39-46) And he came out, and went, as

he was wont, to the mount of Olives; and his

disciples also followed him. And when he was at

the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter

not into temptation. And he was withdrawn from

them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and

prayed, Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove

this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but

thine, be done. And there appeared an angel unto

him from heaven, strengthening him. And being in

an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat

was as it were great drops of blood falling down

to the ground. And when he rose up from prayer,

and was come to his disciples, he found them

sleeping for sorrow, And said unto them, Why

4

sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into

temptation.

(Mark 14:32-42) And they came to a place which

was named Gethsemane: and he saith to his

disciples, Sit ye here, while I shall pray. And he

taketh with him Peter and James and John, and

began to be sore amazed, and to be very heavy;

And saith unto them, My soul is exceeding

sorrowful unto death: tarry ye here, and watch.

And he went forward a little, and fell on the

ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the

hour might pass from him. And he said, Abba,

Father, all things are possible unto thee; take

away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I

will, but what thou wilt. And he cometh, and

findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter,

Simon, sleepest thou? couldest not thou watch one

hour? Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into

temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh

is weak. And again he went away, and prayed,

and spake the same words. And when he returned,

he found them asleep again, (for their eyes were

heavy,) neither wist they what to answer him. And

he cometh the third time, and saith unto them,

Sleep on now, and take your rest: it is enough, the

hour is come; behold, the Son of man is betrayed

5

into the hands of sinners. Rise up, let us go; lo, he

that betrayeth me is at hand.

(Matthew 26:36-46) Then cometh Jesus with them

unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto

the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray

yonder. And he took with him Peter and the two

sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and

very heavy. Then saith he unto them, My soul is

exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye

here, and watch with me. And he went a little

further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O

my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from

me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.

And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth

them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye

not watch with me one hour? Watch and pray,

that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed

is willing, but the flesh is weak. He went away

again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my

Father, if this cup may not pass away from me,

except I drink it, thy will be done. And he came

and found them asleep again: for their eyes were

heavy. And he left them, and went away again,

and prayed the third time, saying the same words.

Then cometh he to his disciples, and saith unto

them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold,

6

the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is

betrayed into the hands of sinners. Rise, let us be

going: behold, he is at hand that doth betray me.

7

CHAPTER TWO: WHAT WICKEDNESS

“THOU THAT KILLEST THE PROPHETS, AND STONEST THEM WHICH ARE SENT UNTO THEE” (Matthew 23:34-36) Wherefore, behold, I send

unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes:

and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and

some of them shall ye scourge in your

synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:

That upon you may come all the righteous blood

shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous

Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of

Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and

the altar. Verily I say unto you, All these things

shall come upon this generation.

THEN THERE IS THE STONING OF STEPHEN. (Acts 7:51-60) Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised

in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy

Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye. Which of the

prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and

they have slain them which shewed before of the

coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been

8

now the betrayers and murderers: Who have

received the law by the disposition of angels, and

have not kept it. When they heard these things,

they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on

him with their teeth. But he, being full of the Holy

Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw

the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right

hand of God, And said, Behold, I see the heavens

opened, and the Son of man standing on the right

hand of God. Then they cried out with a loud

voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him

with one accord, And cast him out of the city, and

stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their

clothes at a young man's feet, whose name was

Saul. And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God,

and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. And he

kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord,

lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had

said this, he fell asleep.

MANY OF THE APOSTLES WERE MARTYRED. (Acts 12:1-3) Now about that time Herod the king

stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the

church. And he killed James the brother of John

with the sword. And because he saw it pleased the

9

Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also.

(Then were the days of unleavened bread.)

ALSO JOHN THE BAPTIST. (Matthew 14:6-12) But when Herod's birthday

was kept, the daughter of Herodias danced before

them, and pleased Herod. Whereupon he

promised with an oath to give her whatsoever she

would ask. And she, being before instructed of her

mother, said, Give me here John Baptist's head in

a charger. And the king was sorry: nevertheless

for the oath's sake, and them which sat with him

at meat, he commanded it to be given her. And he

sent, and beheaded John in the prison. And his

head was brought in a charger, and given to the

damsel: and she brought it to her mother. And his

disciples came, and took up the body, and buried

it, and went and told Jesus.

10

CHAPTER THREE: WHAT WARMTH

“HOW OFTEN WOULD I HAVE GATHERED THY CHILDREN TOGETHER” (Matthew 9:35-38) And Jesus went about all the

cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues,

and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and

healing every sickness and every disease among

the people. But when he saw the multitudes, he

was moved with compassion on them, because

they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep

having no shepherd. Then saith he unto his

disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the

labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of

the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into

his harvest.

JESUS HAS COMPASSION ON THE MASSES, JESUS FEEDS THE 5,000, THE LORD, THE LAD, AND THE LOAVES. (John 6:5-14) When Jesus then lifted up his eyes,

and saw a great company come unto him, he saith

unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that

these may eat? And this he said to prove him: for

he himself knew what he would do. Philip

11

answered him, Two hundred pennyworth of bread

is not sufficient for them, that every one of them

may take a little. One of his disciples, Andrew,

Simon Peter's brother, saith unto him, There is a

lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two

small fishes: but what are they among so many?

And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now

there was much grass in the place. So the men sat

down, in number about five thousand. And Jesus

took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he

distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to

them that were set down; and likewise of the

fishes as much as they would. When they were

filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the

fragments that remain, that nothing be lost.

Therefore they gathered them together, and filled

twelve baskets with the fragments of the five

barley loaves, which remained over and above

unto them that had eaten. Then those men, when

they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said,

This is of a truth that prophet that should come

into the world.

THEN HE FEEDS THE 4,000, (Matthew 15:30-39) And great multitudes came

unto him, having with them those that were lame,

12

blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast

them down at Jesus' feet; and he healed them:

Insomuch that the multitude wondered, when they

saw the dumb to speak, the maimed to be whole,

the lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they

glorified the God of Israel. Then Jesus called his

disciples unto him, and said, I have compassion

on the multitude, because they continue with me

now three days, and have nothing to eat: and I

will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in

the way. And his disciples say unto him, Whence

should we have so much bread in the wilderness,

as to fill so great a multitude? And Jesus saith

unto them, How many loaves have ye? And they

said, Seven, and a few little fishes. And he

commanded the multitude to sit down on the

ground. And he took the seven loaves and the

fishes, and gave thanks, and brake them, and gave

to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.

And they did all eat, and were filled: and they

took up of the broken meat that was left seven

baskets full. And they that did eat were four

thousand men, beside women and children. And

he sent away the multitude, and took ship, and

came into the coasts of Magdala.

THE LORD GIVING SIGHT TO THE BLIND,

13

(Matthew 20:28-34) Even as the Son of man came

not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to

give his life a ransom for many. And as they

departed from Jericho, a great multitude followed

him. And, behold, two blind men sitting by the

way side, when they heard that Jesus passed by,

cried out, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou

Son of David. And the multitude rebuked them,

because they should hold their peace: but they

cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O

Lord, thou Son of David. And Jesus stood still,

and called them, and said, What will ye that I

shall do unto you? They say unto him, Lord, that

our eyes may be opened. So Jesus had compassion

on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately

their eyes received sight, and they followed him.

THE LORD HEALING OF THE DEMON POSSESSED. (Mark 5:1-20) And they came over unto the other

side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes.

And when he was come out of the ship,

immediately there met him out of the tombs a man

with an unclean spirit, Who had his dwelling

among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no,

not with chains: Because that he had been often

14

bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had

been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters

broken in pieces: neither could any man tame

him. And always, night and day, he was in the

mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting

himself with stones. But when he saw Jesus afar

off, he ran and worshipped him, And cried with a

loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee,

Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure

thee by God, that thou torment me not. For he

said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean

spirit. And he asked him, What is thy name? And

he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we

are many. And he besought him much that he

would not send them away out of the country.

Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a

great herd of swine feeding. And all the devils

besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that

we may enter into them. And forthwith Jesus gave

them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and

entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently

down a steep place into the sea, (they were about

two thousand;) and were choked in the sea. And

they that fed the swine fled, and told it in the city,

and in the country. And they went out to see what

it was that was done. And they come to Jesus, and

see him that was possessed with the devil, and had

15

the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right

mind: and they were afraid. And they that saw it

told them how it befell to him that was possessed

with the devil, and also concerning the swine. And

they began to pray him to depart out of their

coasts. And when he was come into the ship, he

that had been possessed with the devil prayed him

that he might be with him. Howbeit Jesus suffered

him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy

friends, and tell them how great things the Lord

hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on

thee. And he departed, and began to publish in

Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for

him: and all men did marvel.

THE LORD RAISES A DEAD BOY, (Luke 7:12-15) Now when he came nigh to the

gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man

carried out, the only son of his mother, and she

was a widow: and much people of the city was

with her. And when the Lord saw her, he had

compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not.

And he came and touched the bier: and they that

bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I

say unto thee, Arise. And he that was dead sat up,

16

and began to speak. And he delivered him to his

mother.

THE LORD RAISES LAZARUS, (John 11:1-37) Now a certain man was sick,

named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and

her sister Martha. (It was that Mary which

anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his

feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was

sick.) Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying,

Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick. When

Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto

death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of

God might be glorified thereby. Now Jesus loved

Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus. When he had

heard therefore that he was sick, he abode two

days still in the same place where he was. Then

after that saith he to his disciples, Let us go into

Judaea again. His disciples say unto him, Master,

the Jews of late sought to stone thee; and goest

thou thither again? Jesus answered, Are there not

twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the

day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light

of this world. But if a man walk in the night, he

stumbleth, because there is no light in him. These

things said he: and after that he saith unto them,

17

Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may

awake him out of sleep. Then said his disciples,

Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well. Howbeit Jesus

spake of his death: but they thought that he had

spoken of taking of rest in sleep. Then said Jesus

unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead. And I am glad

for your sakes that I was not there, to the intent ye

may believe; nevertheless let us go unto him. Then

said Thomas, which is called Didymus, unto his

fellowdisciples, Let us also go, that we may die

with him. Then when Jesus came, he found that he

had lain in the grave four days already. Now

Bethany was nigh unto Jerusalem, about fifteen

furlongs off: And many of the Jews came to

Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning

their brother. Then Martha, as soon as she heard

that Jesus was coming, went and met him: but

Mary sat still in the house. Then said Martha unto

Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother

had not died. But I know, that even now,

whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it

thee. Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise

again. Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall

rise again in the resurrection at the last day.

Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the

life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead,

yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and

18

believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou

this? She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that

thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should

come into the world. And when she had so said,

she went her way, and called Mary her sister

secretly, saying, The Master is come, and calleth

for thee. As soon as she heard that, she arose

quickly, and came unto him. Now Jesus was not

yet come into the town, but was in that place

where Martha met him. The Jews then which were

with her in the house, and comforted her, when

they saw Mary, that she rose up hastily and went

out, followed her, saying, She goeth unto the

grave to weep there. Then when Mary was come

where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at

his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been

here, my brother had not died. When Jesus

therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also

weeping which came with her, he groaned in the

spirit, and was troubled, And said, Where have ye

laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and

see. Jesus wept. Then said the Jews, Behold how

he loved him! And some of them said, Could not

this man, which opened the eyes of the blind, have

caused that even this man should not have died?

JESUS AT THE GRAVE OF LAZARUS,

19

(John 11:38-44) Jesus therefore again groaning

in himself cometh to the grave. It was a cave, and

a stone lay upon it. Jesus said, Take ye away the

stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead,

saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for

he hath been dead four days. Jesus saith unto her,

Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe,

thou shouldest see the glory of God? Then they

took away the stone from the place where the

dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and

said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.

And I knew that thou hearest me always: but

because of the people which stand by I said it, that

they may believe that thou hast sent me. And when

he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice,

Lazarus, come forth. And he that was dead came

forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and

his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus

saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.

THE FRIENDS OF MARY OF BETHANY ARE SAVED, TRUSTING IN THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, (John 11:45-46) Then many of the Jews which

came to Mary, and had seen the things which

20

Jesus did, believed on him. But some of them went

their ways to the Pharisees, and told them what

things Jesus had done.

THE PHARISEES PLOT TO KILL JESUS, (John 11:47-57) Then gathered the chief priests

and the Pharisees a council, and said, What do

we? for this man doeth many miracles. If we let

him thus alone, all men will believe on him: and

the Romans shall come and take away both our

place and nation. And one of them, named

Caiaphas, being the high priest that same year,

said unto them, Ye know nothing at all, Nor

consider that it is expedient for us, that one man

should die for the people, and that the whole

nation perish not. And this spake he not of

himself: but being high priest that year, he

prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation;

And not for that nation only, but that also he

should gather together in one the children of God

that were scattered abroad. Then from that day

forth they took counsel together for to put him to

death. Jesus therefore walked no more openly

among the Jews; but went thence unto a country

near to the wilderness, into a city called Ephraim,

and there continued with his disciples. And the

21

Jews' passover was nigh at hand: and many went

out of the country up to Jerusalem before the

passover, to purify themselves. Then sought they

for Jesus, and spake among themselves, as they

stood in the temple, What think ye, that he will not

come to the feast? Now both the chief priests and

the Pharisees had given a commandment, that, if

any man knew where he were, he should shew it,

that they might take him.

22

CHAPTER FOUR: WHAT WISDOM

“EVEN AS A HEN GATHERETH HER CHICKENS TOGETHER UNDER HER WINGS” WHAT MERCY, AND KINDNESS. (Isaiah 49:15-16) Can a woman forget her

sucking child, that she should not have

compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they

may forget, yet will I not forget thee. Behold, I

have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy

walls are continually before me.

(Isaiah 1:18) Come now, and let us reason

together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as

scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though

they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

(Matthew 11:28-30) Come unto me, all ye that

labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you

rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for

I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find

rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my

burden is light.

JESUS IS CALLING.

23

CHAPTER FIVE: WHAT WILLFULNESS

“AND YE WOULD NOT” A MAJOR THEME THROUGHOUT THE BIBLE, MOST MEN WILL NOT REPENT.

(Genesis 6:1-8) And it came to pass, when men

began to multiply on the face of the earth, and

daughters were born unto them, That the sons of

God saw the daughters of men that they were fair;

and they took them wives of all which they chose.

And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always

strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his

days shall be an hundred and twenty years. There

were giants in the earth in those days; and also

after that, when the sons of God came in unto the

daughters of men, and they bare children to them,

the same became mighty men which were of old,

men of renown. And GOD saw that the

wickedness of man was great in the earth, and

that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart

was only evil continually. And it repented the

LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it

grieved him at his heart. And the LORD said, I

will destroy man whom I have created from the

face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the

creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it

24

repenteth me that I have made them. But Noah

found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

DURING THE TIME JESUS WAS ON EARTH THE RELIGIOUS CROWD REJECTS HIM.

(Matthew 23:31-36) Wherefore ye be witnesses

unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them

which killed the prophets. Fill ye up then the

measure of your fathers. Ye serpents, ye

generation of vipers, how can ye escape the

damnation of hell? Wherefore, behold, I send unto

you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and

some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some

of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and

persecute them from city to city: That upon you

may come all the righteous blood shed upon the

earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the

blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye

slew between the temple and the altar. Verily I say

unto you, All these things shall come upon this

generation.

DURING THE PERIOD OF THE TRIBULATION, MOST WILL NOT REPENT.

25

(Revelation 9:20-21) And the rest of the men

which were not killed by these plagues yet

repented not of the works of their hands, that they

should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and

silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which

neither can see, nor hear, nor walk: Neither

repented they of their murders, nor of their

sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their

thefts.

(Revelation 16:9-11) And men were scorched

with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God,

which hath power over these plagues: and they

repented not to give him glory. And the fifth angel

poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and

his kingdom was full of darkness; and they

gnawed their tongues for pain, And blasphemed

the God of heaven because of their pains and their

sores, and repented not of their deeds.

JESUS WARNS EVERYONE REPENT OR PERISH!

(Luke 13:3) I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent,

ye shall all likewise perish.

26

(Luke 13:5) I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent,

ye shall all likewise perish.

27

CHAPTER SIX: WHAT WOE, WHAT WARNING

“BEHOLD YOUR HOUSE IS LEFT UNTO YOU DESOLATE” JESUS WARNS ABOUT THE PRICE OF REJECTION.

(Matthew 11:21-24) Woe unto thee, Chorazin!

woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works,

which were done in you, had been done in Tyre

and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in

sackcloth and ashes. But I say unto you, It shall

be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of

judgment, than for you. And thou, Capernaum,

which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought

down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have

been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it

would have remained until this day. But I say unto

you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of

Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee.

WARNS THE RELIGIOUS CROWD. (Matthew 23:13-16) But woe unto you, scribes

and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the

kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go

in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are

28

entering to go in. Woe unto you, scribes and

Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows'

houses, and for a pretence make long prayer:

therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites!

for ye compass sea and land to make one

proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him

twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.

Woe unto you, ye blind guides, which say,

Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is

nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of

the temple, he is a debtor!

(Matthew 23:25-29) Woe unto you, scribes and

Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the

outside of the cup and of the platter, but within

they are full of extortion and excess. Thou blind

Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup

and platter, that the outside of them may be clean

also. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees,

hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres,

which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are

within full of dead men's bones, and of all

uncleanness. Even so ye also outwardly appear

righteous unto men, but within ye are full of

hypocrisy and iniquity. Woe unto you, scribes and

Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs

29

of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the

righteous,

(Matthew 15:7-9) Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias

prophesy of you, saying, This people draweth nigh

unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with

their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in

vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines

the commandments of men.

THEN FINALLY THE WOE’S INSIDE OF GOD’S WRATH.

(Revelation 8:13) And I beheld, and heard an

angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying

with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the

inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other

voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which

are yet to sound!

(Matthew 24:1-2) And Jesus went out, and

departed from the temple: and his disciples came

to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.

And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these

things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be

left here one stone upon another, that shall not be

thrown down.

30

(Revelation 12:12) Therefore rejoice, ye heavens,

and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of

the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come

down unto you, having great wrath, because he

knoweth that he hath but a short time.

THE WRATH OF GOD IS POURED OUT ON A CHRIST REJECTING WORLD.

(Revelation 6:1-17) And I saw when the Lamb

opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were

the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying,

Come and see. And I saw, and behold a white

horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a

crown was given unto him: and he went forth

conquering, and to conquer. And when he had

opened the second seal, I heard the second beast

say, Come and see. And there went out another

horse that was red: and power was given to him

that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and

that they should kill one another: and there was

given unto him a great sword. And when he had

opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say,

Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse;

and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in

his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the

four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny,

31

and three measures of barley for a penny; and see

thou hurt not the oil and the wine. And when he

had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of

the fourth beast say, Come and see. And I looked,

and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on

him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And

power was given unto them over the fourth part of

the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and

with death, and with the beasts of the earth. And

when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the

altar the souls of them that were slain for the

word of God, and for the testimony which they

held: And they cried with a loud voice, saying,

How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not

judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on

the earth? And white robes were given unto every

one of them; and it was said unto them, that they

should rest yet for a little season, until their

fellowservants also and their brethren, that should

be killed as they were, should be fulfilled. And I

beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo,

there was a great earthquake; and the sun became

black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became

as blood; And the stars of heaven fell unto the

earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs,

when she is shaken of a mighty wind. And the

heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled

32

together; and every mountain and island were

moved out of their places. And the kings of the

earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and

the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every

bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in

the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; And

said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and

hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the

throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the

great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be

able to stand?

THE SEVENTH SEAL, OUT OF WHICH THE SEVEN TRUMPET JUDGEMENTS COME.

(Revelation 8:1-13) And when he had opened the

seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about

the space of half an hour. And I saw the seven

angels which stood before God; and to them were

given seven trumpets. And another angel came

and stood at the altar, having a golden censer;

and there was given unto him much incense, that

he should offer it with the prayers of all saints

upon the golden altar which was before the

throne. And the smoke of the incense, which came

with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before

God out of the angel's hand. And the angel took

33

the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and

cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and

thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake.

And the seven angels which had the seven

trumpets prepared themselves to sound. The first

angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire

mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the

earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up,

and all green grass was burnt up. And the second

angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain

burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the

third part of the sea became blood; And the third

part of the creatures which were in the sea, and

had life, died; and the third part of the ships were

destroyed. And the third angel sounded, and there

fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a

lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers,

and upon the fountains of waters; And the name of

the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of

the waters became wormwood; and many men

died of the waters, because they were made bitter.

And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part

of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the

moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the

third part of them was darkened, and the day

shone not for a third part of it, and the night

likewise. And I beheld, and heard an angel flying

34

through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud

voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the

earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet

of the three angels, which are yet to sound!

(Revelation 9:1-21) And the fifth angel sounded,

and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth:

and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit.

And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose

a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great

furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by

reason of the smoke of the pit. And there came out

of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto

them was given power, as the scorpions of the

earth have power. And it was commanded them

that they should not hurt the grass of the earth,

neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only

those men which have not the seal of God in their

foreheads. And to them it was given that they

should not kill them, but that they should be

tormented five months: and their torment was as

the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man.

And in those days shall men seek death, and shall

not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall

flee from them. And the shapes of the locusts were

like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on

their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and

35

their faces were as the faces of men. And they had

hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as

the teeth of lions. And they had breastplates, as it

were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their

wings was as the sound of chariots of many

horses running to battle. And they had tails like

unto scorpions, and there were stings in their

tails: and their power was to hurt men five

months. And they had a king over them, which is

the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the

Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek

tongue hath his name Apollyon. One woe is past;

and, behold, there come two woes more hereafter.

And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice

from the four horns of the golden altar which is

before God, Saying to the sixth angel which had

the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are

bound in the great river Euphrates. And the four

angels were loosed, which were prepared for an

hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to

slay the third part of men. And the number of the

army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand

thousand: and I heard the number of them. And

thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that

sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of

jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the

horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their

36

mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone. By

these three was the third part of men killed, by the

fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone,

which issued out of their mouths. For their power

is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails

were like unto serpents, and had heads, and with

them they do hurt. And the rest of the men which

were not killed by these plagues yet repented not

of the works of their hands, that they should not

worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and

brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can

see, nor hear, nor walk: Neither repented they of

their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their

fornication, nor of their thefts.

GOD’S TWO WITNESSES PROPHESY FOR 42 MONTHS.

(Revelation 11:3-19) And I will give power unto

my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a

thousand two hundred and threescore days,

clothed in sackcloth. These are the two olive trees,

and the two candlesticks standing before the God

of the earth. And if any man will hurt them, fire

proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth

their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he

must in this manner be killed. These have power

37

to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their

prophecy: and have power over waters to turn

them to blood, and to smite the earth with all

plagues, as often as they will. And when they shall

have finished their testimony, the beast that

ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war

against them, and shall overcome them, and kill

them. And their dead bodies shall lie in the street

of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom

and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

And they of the people and kindreds and tongues

and nations shall see their dead bodies three days

and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies

to be put in graves. And they that dwell upon the

earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry,

and shall send gifts one to another; because these

two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the

earth. And after three days and an half the Spirit

of life from God entered into them, and they stood

upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them

which saw them. And they heard a great voice

from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither.

And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and

their enemies beheld them. And the same hour

was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part

of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of

men seven thousand: and the remnant were

38

affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.

The second woe is past; and, behold, the third

woe cometh quickly. And the seventh angel

sounded; and there were great voices in heaven,

saying, The kingdoms of this world are become

the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and

he shall reign for ever and ever. And the four and

twenty elders, which sat before God on their

seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God,

Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God

Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come;

because thou hast taken to thee thy great power,

and hast reigned. And the nations were angry,

and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead,

that they should be judged, and that thou

shouldest give reward unto thy servants the

prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy

name, small and great; and shouldest destroy

them which destroy the earth. And the temple of

God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in

his temple the ark of his testament: and there were

lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an

earthquake, and great hail.

GOD’S WARNING, THE WOMAN ISRAEL,

39

(Revelation 12:1-2) And there appeared a great

wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun,

and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a

crown of twelve stars: And she being with child

cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be

delivered.

SATAN,

(Revelation 12:3-4) And there appeared another

wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon,

having seven heads and ten horns, and seven

crowns upon his heads. And his tail drew the third

part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to

the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman

which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her

child as soon as it was born.

THE CHILD CHRIST,

(Revelation 12:5-6) And she brought forth a man

child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of

iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and

to his throne. And the woman fled into the

wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of

God, that they should feed her there a thousand

two hundred and threescore days.

40

THE ARCHANGEL,

(Revelation 12:7-12) And there was war in

heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the

dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,

And prevailed not; neither was their place found

any more in heaven. And the great dragon was

cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and

Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was

cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast

out with him. And I heard a loud voice saying in

heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and

the kingdom of our God, and the power of his

Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast

down, which accused them before our God day

and night. And they overcame him by the blood of

the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and

they loved not their lives unto the death. Therefore

rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them.

Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea!

for the devil is come down unto you, having great

wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a

short time.

SATAN AND ISRAEL IN THE TRIBULATION,

41

(Revelation 12:13-17) And when the dragon saw

that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the

woman which brought forth the man child. And to

the woman were given two wings of a great eagle,

that she might fly into the wilderness, into her

place, where she is nourished for a time, and

times, and half a time, from the face of the

serpent. And the serpent cast out of his mouth

water as a flood after the woman, that he might

cause her to be carried away of the flood. And the

earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her

mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the

dragon cast out of his mouth. And the dragon was

wroth with the woman, and went to make war with

the remnant of her seed, which keep the

commandments of God, and have the testimony of

Jesus Christ.

THE BEAST, THE ANTICHRIST, THE SON OF SATAN DECEIVES THOSE ON THE EARTH.

(Revelation 13:1-18) And I stood upon the sand of

the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea,

having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his

horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of

42

blasphemy. And the beast which I saw was like

unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a

bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and

the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and

great authority. And I saw one of his heads as it

were wounded to death; and his deadly wound

was healed: and all the world wondered after the

beast. And they worshipped the dragon which

gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped

the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who

is able to make war with him? And there was

given unto him a mouth speaking great things and

blasphemies; and power was given unto him to

continue forty and two months. And he opened his

mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme

his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell

in heaven. And it was given unto him to make war

with the saints, and to overcome them: and power

was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and

nations. And all that dwell upon the earth shall

worship him, whose names are not written in the

book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation

of the world. If any man have an ear, let him hear.

He that leadeth into captivity shall go into

captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be

killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the

faith of the saints. And I beheld another beast

43

coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns

like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. And he

exerciseth all the power of the first beast before

him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell

therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly

wound was healed. And he doeth great wonders,

so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on

the earth in the sight of men, And deceiveth them

that dwell on the earth by the means of those

miracles which he had power to do in the sight of

the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth,

that they should make an image to the beast,

which had the wound by a sword, and did live.

And he had power to give life unto the image of

the beast, that the image of the beast should both

speak, and cause that as many as would not

worship the image of the beast should be killed.

And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and

poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their

right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man

might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or

the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding

count the number of the beast: for it is the number

of a man; and his number is Six hundred

threescore and six.

44

THE MARK OF THE BEAST DOOMS ALL THOSE WHO TAKE IT. MORE JUDGEMENT COMES.

(Revelation 14:9-13) And the third angel followed

them, saying with a loud voice, If any man

worship the beast and his image, and receive his

mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same

shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which

is poured out without mixture into the cup of his

indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire

and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels,

and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke

of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever:

and they have no rest day nor night, who worship

the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth

the mark of his name. Here is the patience of the

saints: here are they that keep the commandments

of God, and the faith of Jesus. And I heard a voice

from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are

the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth:

Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their

labours; and their works do follow them.

(Revelation 15:1-8) And I saw another sign in

heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels

having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled

45

up the wrath of God. And I saw as it were a sea of

glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten

the victory over the beast, and over his image, and

over his mark, and over the number of his name,

stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of

God. And they sing the song of Moses the servant

of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great

and marvellous are thy works, Lord God

Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of

saints. Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and

glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all

nations shall come and worship before thee; for

thy judgments are made manifest. And after that I

looked, and, behold, the temple of the tabernacle

of the testimony in heaven was opened: And the

seven angels came out of the temple, having the

seven plagues, clothed in pure and white linen,

and having their breasts girded with golden

girdles. And one of the four beasts gave unto the

seven angels seven golden vials full of the wrath

of God, who liveth for ever and ever. And the

temple was filled with smoke from the glory of

God, and from his power; and no man was able to

enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the

seven angels were fulfilled.

46

(Revelation 16:1-21) And I heard a great voice

out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go

your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of

God upon the earth. And the first went, and

poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell

a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which

had the mark of the beast, and upon them which

worshipped his image. And the second angel

poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as

the blood of a dead man: and every living soul

died in the sea. And the third angel poured out his

vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and

they became blood. And I heard the angel of the

waters say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art,

and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged

thus. For they have shed the blood of saints and

prophets, and thou hast given them blood to

drink; for they are worthy. And I heard another

out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty,

true and righteous are thy judgments. And the

fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and

power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.

And men were scorched with great heat, and

blasphemed the name of God, which hath power

over these plagues: and they repented not to give

him glory. And the fifth angel poured out his vial

upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was

47

full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues

for pain, And blasphemed the God of heaven

because of their pains and their sores, and

repented not of their deeds. And the sixth angel

poured out his vial upon the great river

Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up,

that the way of the kings of the east might be

prepared. And I saw three unclean spirits like

frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and

out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth

of the false prophet. For they are the spirits of

devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the

kings of the earth and of the whole world, to

gather them to the battle of that great day of God

Almighty. Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he

that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he

walk naked, and they see his shame. And he

gathered them together into a place called in the

Hebrew tongue Armageddon. And the seventh

angel poured out his vial into the air; and there

came a great voice out of the temple of heaven,

from the throne, saying, It is done. And there were

voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there

was a great earthquake, such as was not since

men were upon the earth, so mighty an

earthquake, and so great. And the great city was

divided into three parts, and the cities of the

48

nations fell: and great Babylon came in

remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup

of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath. And

every island fled away, and the mountains were

not found. And there fell upon men a great hail

out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a

talent: and men blasphemed God because of the

plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was

exceeding great.

49

CHAPTER SEVEN : WHAT WARNING

THE WORLD SUFFERS , BECAUSE OF REJECTING GOD’S ONLY BEGOTTEN SON. “FOR I SAY UNTO YOU YE SHALL NOT SEE ME HENCEFORTH, TILL YE SHALL SAY, BLESSED IS HE THAT COMETH IN THE NAME OF THE LORD” WHAT A SAD STATEMENT. (Matthew 27:24-25) When Pilate saw that he

could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult

was made, he took water, and washed his hands

before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the

blood of this just person: see ye to it. Then

answered all the people, and said, His blood be

on us, and on our children.

(Zechariah 12:9-10) And it shall come to pass in

that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations

that come against Jerusalem. And I will pour

upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants

of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of

supplications: and they shall look upon me whom

they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him,

50

as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in

bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for

his firstborn.

(Revelation 19:11-16) And I saw heaven opened,

and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon

him was called Faithful and True, and in

righteousness he doth judge and make war. His

eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were

many crowns; and he had a name written, that no

man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed

with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is

called The Word of God. And the armies which

were in heaven followed him upon white horses,

clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of

his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he

should smite the nations: and he shall rule them

with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress

of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And

he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name

written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF

LORDS.

I’M SURE THE LORD STILL WEEPS AS HE LOOKS OVER THE WORD TODAY. THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY TO HEAVEN. THE LORD JESUS SAID IN JOHN 14:6.

51

(John 14:6) Jesus saith unto him, I am the way,

the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the

Father, but by me.

.YOUR RELIGION WILL NOT SAVE YOU. YOUR GOOD WORKS WILL NOT SAVE YOU. (Titus 3:5) Not by works of righteousness which

we have done, but according to his mercy he

saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and

renewing of the Holy Ghost;

(Ephesians 2:8-9) For by grace are ye saved

through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the

gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should

boast.

WE ALL MUST REPENT. (Luke 13:3) I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent,

ye shall all likewise perish.

WE MUST TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR OUR SIN NATURE.

52

(Romans 3:23) For all have sinned, and come

short of the glory of God;

(Romans 6:23) For the wages of sin is death; but

the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ

our Lord.

THE GOOD NEWS IS THE LORD JESUS CHRIST LAID DOWN HIS LIFE ON CALVARY TO PAY OUR SIN DEPT. (Romans 5:8) But God commendeth his love

toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners,

Christ died for us.

THEN WE MUST CALL ON THE LORD AND ASK FOR HIS MERCY. (Romans 10:9) That if thou shalt confess with thy

mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine

heart that God hath raised him from the dead,

thou shalt be saved.

(Romans 10:13) For whosoever shall call upon

the name of the Lord shall be saved.

53

THE LORD HAS NEVER TURNED ANYONE DOWN THAT CAME TO HIM BY FAITH. ONCE YOU TRUST HIM YOU RECEIVE THE GIFT OF GOD ETERNAL LIFE. (Romans 6:23) For the wages of sin is death; but

the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ

our Lord.

(John 3:36) He that believeth on the Son hath

everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son

shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on

him.

(John 3:16) For God so loved the world, that he

gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever

believeth in him should not perish, but have

everlasting life.

AND THE LORD KEEPS YOU. (John 10:27-30) My sheep hear my voice, and I

know them, and they follow me: And I give unto

them eternal life; and they shall never perish,

neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

My Father, which gave them me, is greater than

all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my

Father's hand. I and my Father are one.
