Today's Objective
Today we will be talking about different types of shapes, learning about edges and vertices, making new shapes from old shapes and learning about faces on 3 dimensional shapes.
Lets Learn About Shapes!
Lets take a look at two – dimensional figures.
• Square
• Circle
•Ellipse
•Triangle
•Rectangle
• Rhombus
•Trapezoid
•Parallelogram
•Pentagon
•Hexagon
Edges and Vertices
Shapes have edges and vertices, edges means sides.
How many edges does a rectangle have?
How many vertices does a rectangle have?
Answer : 4 Answer : 4
Making New Shapes
New shapes can be made from another shape.
• You can combine shapes.
• You can cut shapes apart.
What shape can be made out of a triangle?
Answer : Diamond or Parallelogram
3 Dimensional Objects
