1. Overview
This Quick Start Guide is for first time customers and will instruct login, disk
management, add camera, record schedule, live preview, playback and logout step
by step. For more operation details about iVMS-2000, please refer to iVMS-2000
User Manual.
2. Installation
For installation, please refer to iVMS-2000 V2.0.0 Installation Manual
3. Quick Start
Step1: Login
Double click the shortcut on desktop to start. After the login dialog
popup (figure 3-1), please input default user name: admin, password: 12345 and
click [Login] button.

Step2: Disk Management
iVMS-2000 adopts disk pre-allocation technology, and will require to
pre-allocate space before recording. The figure 3-2 will popup after login. Click [OK]
to enter Disk Management (Figure 3-3).

The Unused Disk list will show all available partitions. Select the partitions for
recording and click [Add] button to pre-allocate space. The available partition
should have more than 2GB free space. After pre-allocation, the state of partition
will be Allocated.
Click [OK] to enter next step.
Step3: Main Interface
After initializing system (Figure 3-4), the main interface will popup
(Figure3-5)

If Hikvision Capture Card is installed, the iVMS-2000 will list the analog
cameras. For capture card, please refer to Hikvision capture card manual

Step4: Add IP Camera (Optional)
Check in menu to enter [Config] interface (Figure 3-6)

Click [Camera] on the left to enter the Camera Configuration Interface (Figure
3-6, step 4). The camera management area is showed in Figure 3-7:

Click [Add] button to add cameras in popup dialog (Figure 3-8)

1. Auto Detect and Add
iVMS-2000 will list all IP cameras in same gateway. Input Camera’s user name
and password at bottom and click [OK] to add. (Hikvision IP Camera’s default
user name: admin and password: 12345)
If the listed cameras have same IP address, click [Config Camera Parameter]
button to modify conflict IP address (Figure 3-9)

After configuring the IP address (or Gateway also), click [OK] to exit. As usual,

Port and Subnet Mask don’t need to be modified.
If the IP Camera is in different Gateway, please select [Add Single IP] or [Add
IP Range] to add it.
2. Add Single IP

Input the IP address, port, user name and password of the camera that
need be added;
Click [Get Camera Info] to check if the camera is online.
Select the camera in the list, and click [OK] to add.
3. Add IP Range

Input Start IP and End IP, port, user name and password for all cameras,
please make sure all cameras have the same port, user name and
password.
Click [Get Camera Info] to check if cameras are online.
Click [OK] to add all listed cameras.

Step5: Record Schedule (Optional)
By default, cameras are scheduled for all day motion detection record. If the
default schedule doesn’t need be modified, please skip this step.
Click [Schedule] in Configuration Interface (Figure 3-6, Step5) to enter
Schedule interface. The schedule management area is showed in Figure 3-12:

Click [Modify] button in Figure3-12 to enter configuration dialog (Figure3-13).

Motion Detection Area, Encoding Parameters, Record Temperate, Pre-record
Time, Post Record Time and Record Mode can be configured.
Click [Delete] / [Delete All] to delete existing schedule;
Click [Motion] / [Schedule] to select Record Mode;
Drag the mouse on the schedule to specify a time bar (maximum: 8 bars),
the length of time bar can be adjusted and the bar can be copied to other
days.

Click [Ok] to finish the schedule configuration.
Step6: Preview
To preview live video, drag the camera in left list to the right preview window
(Figure3-14)

Tool bar in each preview window:
Button Description
Control PTZ on video directly, 8 direction icons will be
showed.
Instant playback about 1 minute record of current camera.
Digital Zoom and a Viewfinder will popup.
Take Snapshot of current camera.
Start Manual record, click again to stop.
Stop preview current camera.
Main Buttons:
Button Name Description
Preview Layout Select different preview layout.
Full Screen Preview video in Full Screen mode, click
again to exit
Close All Stop previewing all Cameras
Emergency Record Start emergency record for all cameras
and will stop automatically(set the record
duration in General Settings interface)
Manual Record Start Manual Record for all cameras, click
again to stop
Auto Switch Start Auto Switch by cameras or groups
Live Audio Enable/Disable Live Audio
Volume Adjust Volume for Live Audio
Step7: Playback
Check in menu to enter [Playback] interface (Figure 3-15)

Click button to search record (Figure3-16).

Select the checkbox or drag the mouse to select cameras.
Select the date, time and record type on the top
Click [OK] button at bottom to search and playback
Step8: Exit System
Click in menu (or click button on main interface), and
a confirmation dialog will popup. Click [OK] button to exit iVMS-2000.
