Now select the playlist you just created.

• Create at least two Playlists for topics you are currently studying or will be within the next week or so.
Searching for Video
Begin a new search by clicking on the search option. You can always find this navigation bar on the top of the unitedstreaming screen.

Four Search Options
Keyword SearchType in any word and the videos that include that word in the title or description will be listed.
unitedstreaming will list the videos in order of relevance, so the videos most likely to match your topic will appear first.

Subject or Grade SearchUse the pull-down menus to select from subject areas, topics within that subject, and grade levels.
Topics will change depending on the subject selected.

If videos are scheduled, the unitedstreaming server gives commands to the School Video Server to go to the EPS Main Video Server and download the video to it’s hard drive.
Once the video has been downloaded to the school server, it can be used at any time of the day or night.

The next day (or week, or month), the teacher accesses the unitedstreaming web site and finds the video (hopefully they added it to a playlist!!). The unitedstreaming server knows that the video the teacher scheduled is now at the school.

The first step to showing video is to access the unitedstreaming site at http://www.unitedstreaming.com and log into your account.

Viewing videos is restricted between 7:00 AM and 3:30 PM on school days for videos that have not been downloaded to the school video server (using the download later button).

Show (Stream) the Video
The S button stands for STREAM, but you might want to think of it as the SHOW button. When you click on it, the video shows in the player on the left side of the screen.
Download Video to Your ComputerYou can also download video to a hard drive on your computer. There are several reasons why you might want to do this:
• You can play your server even if the Internet connection or the building network is down.
• You can play it in Windows Media Player, which provides more playback tools.
• You can include the videos in other applications.

Learning Resources
The QUIZ CENTER allows you to create a list of videos that students can access from outside the school. With Quiz Center, students do not need a password to view the videos.

You can also add questions for students to answer in the quiz section, but it isn’t required. The Quiz Center will automatically score all questions and give you a complete report for your classes.

• Don’t wait until the last minute
• Schedule your video to download later at least one day in advance
• Use your Playlist to keep track of videos
• To show a video:– Login to unitedstreaming’s website– Open your Playlist– Look for the green checkmark– Click the S (Stream or Show) to play the video
