The Charity Ball at Studio City was a fantastic event. It was attended by
members, sponsors, and guests who supported our efforts and helped
us to raise over MOP935,000 for charity. My congratulations go to
Kylie Rogers, Jen Elton, Janice Leung, Anastasia Lijadi, Chandra Le,
Trang Dooley, Barbara Ian, Rebecca Glade, and Samantha Birkwood for
making this event a huge success.
The Melbourne Cup was truly an international
event. We enjoyed the food, the ambiance at the
Banyan Tree, the horse races, and raised
MOP131,500 for our charities. My thanks go to
Kylie Rogers, Jen Elton, Fran Thomas, Janice
Leung, and Anastasia Lijadi for organizing this very
enjoyable and exciting event.
The Charity Bazaar was a great day for friends and
families. Thanks to Georgia Creeden, with her
team of Kat Scott and Anastasia Lijadi, and
volunteers Judy Byrd, Richard Whitfield, Suh Hee
Choi, Joan Hall, Michelle Valenti, Jen Elton, Fran
Thomas, Denise Fiddis, Garrett Byrd, and
Rosemary Bowie, we raised over MOP54,000 for
charity. And we thank the Grand Coloane Resort
for hosting the event.
The Carers’ Dinner was a wonderful evening. We
are grateful to the Macau Foundation, whose
grant enabled us to host the dinner to thank our lawyers, local media,
and the heroes who take care of the needy in Macau. Many thanks to
Trang Dooley and Anastasia Lijadi for organizing the event at the Grand
Coloane Resort.
We also supported the Pink Lunch to fight against breast cancer. Thank
you, Kat Scott, for coordinating our participation with the Conrad
Macao.
Vice President Joan Hall and I attended the University of St Joseph’s
graduation where ILCM donated scholarships to two students. We also
attended many meaningful charity activities and events in Macau. Thank
you, Joan, for being a great partner.
The social club… We created two more social clubs for ILCM members this year. Joan
Hall and Rebecca Glade created the Knit-Wits for women to socialize
and share crafts and ideas. Trang Dooley created the Dragon Boat Club
which will organize and prepare an ILCM team for participating in
Dragon Boat Races.
Joan Hall also leads the More than a Book Club, which is a great form of
literary enjoyment. We thank Ardyth Comper, Chandra Le, and Jen
Bowen for running the Cooking Club.
Nina Cao ran fun activities for Mums & Tots. Nina will be missed and
we thank her and Kel Wilton for leading Mums & Tots. I also thank
Kimberly Bruns for keeping the Mahjong and Tennis groups going.
Members really enjoy these activities.
Kat Scott led Let’s Do Lunch and we all enjoyed the variety of places she
took us to. Trinayani Goswami is now following in Kat’s footsteps.
Thank you, Kat, for an outstanding job. Georgia Creeden continues to
organize Chat @ Coffee Morning. It is a great way to meet people and
enjoy guest speakers. We also thank the Grand Coloane Resort for
hosting these mornings.
Drinks After Work continues to be a fun way for people to unwind after
work, meet new people, and catch up with friends. Winnie Wong takes
us to a different venue every month and for nine years has taken
personal care of everyone. Winnie also co-organized an evening in
Zhuhai. Thanks, Winnie and her husband Michael Ngo for taking care of
us!
I would like to express thanks to Barbara Zahner
for organizing the Waterfront BBQ & Fireworks and
the Chinese New Year Lunch. Thank you for being
our photographer as well; without you, members
may have missed seeing our events.
… with community spirit! Anastasia Lijadi was always there to guide us with
all her knowledge and dedication. Anastasia was
also responsible for obtaining the grant from the
Macau Foundation.
Kylie Rogers, thank you for an outstanding job in
organizing fundraising events. ILCM treasurer, Jen
Elton did an excellent job managing our finances.
Congratulations to Jen Elton, Georgia Creeden,
Ardyth Comper and Dora Deparis for revamping
our Bylaws & Operating Procedures.
I thank Rebecca Glade for managing membership, and Chandra Le and
Janice Leung for assisting with membership and events. Thank you
Andrea Jimenez, for obtaining discounts and great offers for members
from local businesses. I also thank Donna Jane, Brittany Panter, and
Fran Thomas for their contributions.
I thank the Fiscal Committee, Kimberly Bruns, Barbara Zahner and
Sophie Lei for reviewing our monthly reports. Thank you, Barbara
Zahner, Georgia Creeden, Sophie Lei, and Winnie Wong for supporting
ILCM on Facebook.
Thank you, Trang Dooley, for heading up Community Services, one of
the Club’s most emotionally challenging missions. You and your team
did an excellent job in taking care of the needy.
I thank all ILCM members, as well as executive committee members,
sub-committees, fiscal committee, and all the volunteers for their hard
work and dedication, and to everyone who donated their time and
expertise. And immense appreciation to all the sponsors who helped
and supported us in many of the ILCM social and fundraising events.
Lastly, I wish to give the Macau community my heartfelt thanks for
allowing me to be part of the ILCM team. I enjoyed working with all the
dedicated and professional ladies.
Saroj Chatterjee – ILCM President, June 2015 to May2016
The International Ladies’ Club of Macau had a very productive year and raised over MOP1,219,000 for charity!
ILCM… A non-profit social organization supporting local charities since 1984
history The International Ladies Club of Macau (ILCM) was established in 1984 as a non-profit charitable
association. We organize fundraising events, and social activities for members, and our community services
team engages in projects that help support over 17 charities in Macau. The organization and all activities are
run 100% by volunteers and 100% of donations go directly to charities supported by the ILCM.
friendship We welcome English speakers of all nationalities, backgrounds and interests… female and male, young
and old, married and single, and with and without children. As the first point of contact for most newcomers,
we aim to enrich their time in Macau and help them to settle into a new and very interesting environment.
The ILCM is a social club with community spirit… so that while achieving our goal of bringing together a multi
-cultural group of English speakers from all over the world, we also support local charities, and help improve
disenfranchised groups in Macau.
community services Our Community Services team assists local charities through hands-on volunteer aid and monetary
grants, and they distribute donations, sponsorship, and funds raised through ILCM fundraisers. The team also
evaluates the impact of ILCM support directly on the charity and the wider community. They also function as
liaison between the business community and charities, and help them access funds when requests are too
large for ILCM’s budget. These volunteers are points of contact to the charities and often offer emotional and
practical support to the dedicated people who are running the charities.
The Community Services team distributed over MOP1,253,000 to pay for water filters, rice, snacks, youth
events, oxygen machines, bedding, educational trips and materials, building repairs, washing machines, and the
partial purchase of a van. The ILCM also donated funds for psychotherapy for traumatized children, nappies
and milk for abandoned babies, housing costs assistance of a women’s drug rehab unit, an electric tilt table for
lifting handicapped children, a music therapist for handicapped children, and blankets for abused girls.
volunteers Our accomplishments are a result of our desire to help those in need and the desire to give something
back to Macau.
10% of ILCM members volunteer their time and expertise.
25 Fundraising and Social volunteers donated over 7,000 volunteer hours to the Macau community.
11 Community Services volunteers made 60 visits to 17 charities and donated over 1,000 volunteer hours.
12 volunteers ran the ILCM, and along with sub-committees, donated over 3,000 volunteer hours.

how can you help? We welcome help in many different ways. Our
Community Services team is reaching out and
seeks support from our members and friends.
Without your support and donations, we cannot
help our charities.
Sponsorship: Your contributions and support
are vital at the Annual Charity Ball, Melbourne
Cup Luncheon, Charity Bazaar, and at all our
fundraising events.
Facilitators: We act as liaison with the business
community when they are looking to champion
a cause, and when funds for special situations
are needed by charities.
Scholarships: We welcome contributors and
partners who are interested in supporting the
education of local students.
Cash contributions: Our charities are always in
need of help. You can donate to the ILCM
Charity Fund or select the charity that touches
your heart.
Volunteer: Experienced and non-experienced
assistance is always welcome. Volunteering your
time and expertise will make a difference in the
lives of those in need.
Donations: If you have clothing, household
items, office supplies, etc., please let us know
and we will see that it goes to the right place.
If something in this Annual Report captured your
heart, please email to ilcm@ilcm.org.mo
We cannot do it without you!
how we do it... The ILCM donated over MOP1,253,000 to 17 local
charities this year. These funds were raised by
ILCM volunteers through the Annual Charity Ball,
Melbourne Cup Luncheon, Charity Bazaar, and
through sponsors and individual donations.
The ILCM is a unique organization because 100%
of donations go directly to our charities… we have
no paid staff, and all ILCM events and activities are
run by volunteers.
Helping charities is not just about money. The
ILCM raises community awareness in order to help
charities that need support, and many of our
members utilize their skills by volunteering their
time and expertise to help local charities. We also
visit charity organizations and support the
caregivers who work very hard in thankless jobs…
we care for them as well.
Macau is no different from most cities around the
world. It has poor and vulnerable citizens,
abandoned babies, neglected and abused children,
children requiring protection, women and children
victims of domestic violence, the forgotten elderly
and disadvantaged disabled, victims of drug abuse,
and students with talent who require financial
assistance. They are the ones that the International
Ladies’ Club of Macau aims to help.
We are indebted to the dedication and work of
volunteers, members and friends, and grateful for
the goodwill of companies and individuals who care
and help support those in need.
