WHAT HAPPENED NEXT?

I am adding below the entries from the 1 Entry Scrapbook which I hold. The preface to the Directory above says: : This is the first edition of the Directory which aims to list all OWs by entry”. I donʼt think this is correct because I seem to recall Derek Hawker producing one in the latter end of the seventies (see the OWA section in Annex G. Practically all the detail below must be from Derekʼs directory because I donʼt know where else I would have got this amount of detail from. It looks as though I cut the entries out of this directory and stuck them in the scrapbook because the cutting lines are not square (never did get the knack of planing wood square despite “Obecheʼs” tuition), and the stuck on bits are not photocopies. In addition I canʼt find Derekʼs Directory . I am compiling this in August 2011. If you are reading this and want to add anything please contact me. I wonʼt annotate the entries with any of our friends who are sadly no longer with us - we are all now vulnerable!

Jim Dennis

Nig and I were bosom friends and joined Welbeck from Chesterfield Grammar School. His funeral was held in Salisbury Cathedral amid a packed congregation with an oration by The Signal Officer in Chief.

Chris was one of the few to fill in his entry into the scrapbook.

Jeff made Colonel

Derek made Brigadier David made Colonel and I understand became Mayor of ????

Mick Clifford, I gather, became the Sherriff of Nottingham. Would have thought he was the other guy!

Jim dennis made Brigadier

Trevor made Colonel

Marion is a QC now in Edinburgh

Alan retired as a Lt Col I think

Bas became a very senior Civil Servant and ran the UK Census. He has now written two bios, one of James Maxwell, this is a best seller in the scientific world.

Andy was of course the Polo Team Manager for the Russian Olympics. He later became the Bursar of Welbeck after retiring as a Colonel.

Sam invented the Recorder system and has continued as our Welbeck POC since the system began. He still keeps us aware of what is going on. Made Colonel.

John made Colonel

Arthur made Colonel and is now, I gather, a Black belt in both Golf and Bridge, as is Jane!

Nick was the first Welbexian to make Brigadier.
