FEATURES & BENEFITSFEATURES & BENEFITS
Covenant’s Indirect Fired Heaters are used to provide heat transfer on the well effluent to prevent hydrates and improve separation of well effluents. The heater is used as a well conditioning device. During flowback or production testing operations hydrates will sometimes form with the reduction in pressure at pressure drops, which causes a temperature reduction (the effect is magnified on gas wells). Heating effluents also reduces ememulsions by increasing viscosity thus allowing more accurate flow measurement in the test separator.
The indirect fired heater consists of a fire tube, a water bath that operates at atmospheric pressure with a pressure constraining split coil design and an intermediate 1” or 2” max orifice adjustable choke depending on coil ID. Some heaters will not have split coils, but rather a single pressurized coil rating. There is a flame arrestor normally on the burner air inlet and an optimal spark arrestor on the stack exhaust. Additional temperature control for auto ignition of pilot provides preprevention of flame-out during operations. The heater manifold has an inlet and outlet gate or plug valve.
