CROWN POINT - On Saturday, March 23, 2013, seventy-five of the Crown
Point Swim Club swimmers got to experience a once in a lifetime clinic with
2012 Olympic Gold Medalist Brendan Hansen. Hansen spent three hours in the
water with the swimmers working on technique and taking about ideas of how to
improve as well as spent an hour in the classroom talking about his Olympic ex-
periences and what drove him to be as great a swimmer as he is. For a special
treat, Brendan came to the club banquet later that evening to sign autographs and
take pictures with the whole
club as well as talk to the fam-
ilies and hand out the awards
to the swimmers. “Brendan

The Crown Point Swim Club finished the 2012-2013 season with
powerful performances at both the Age Group State Champion-
ships and Senior State Championships by finishing 6th at both
meets. The Senior State swimmers posted a 30.43% best times
while scoring a total of 526.5 team points. Aly Tetzloff won high
point for the girls. Event winners and runner ups were:
Aly Tetzloff – 2nd in the 100 Free (:50.39), 2nd in the 200 Back
(1:59.78), 1st in the 50 Free (:23.58), 1st in the 100 Back (:55.22),
1st in the 200 IM (2:02.18), and 1st in the 100 Fly (:54.67)
400 Free Relay – 2nd (3:31.56) Holly Schuster, MacKenzie Artim,
Racheal Bukowski, Aly Tetzloff
At the Age Group State Championships, 22 CPSC swimmers posted a 67.65% best times effort while scoring a
total of 643 team points. Hannah Kukurugya won the high point for 13-14 girls. Event winners and runner
ups were:
Hannah Kukurugya (13-14 Girls age group) – 2nd in the 400 IM (4:26.05), 1st in the 500 Free (4:55.45), 2nd in
the 100 Fly (:56.10), 1st in the 200 Free (1:51.43), 2nd in the 200 IM (2:04.77), and 1st in the 200 Fly (2:01.24 –
state and meet record)
Kelsi Artim (13-14 Girls age group) – 1st in the 100 Breast (1:04.40) and 2nd in the 200 Breast (2:20.56)
Alex McCormick (10 & Under Boys age group) – 2nd in the 100 Back (1:07.86)

HS staff that we need to make
sure to keep to the pool area. If
you are waiting for your child to
be done with swimming AND
you have other children that are
not swimming, please make sure
that all children you are responsi-
ble for stay either in the stands or
in the hall outside of the pool ar-
ea. NO CPSC members are al-
lowed to us the fieldhouse with-
out the permission of the HS ad-
ministration. We do not have per-
mission to be utilizing any other
parts of the HS facility other than
the pool. Thank you for your help
with this!

always change your commitment
to meets PRIOR to deadlines
passing. Make sure you know
when these deadlines are as they
are emailed to each member when
the meets are posted on the web-
site. If you have problems locat-
ing the deadlines, please contact
the office or see Coach John after
practices to help you with this.
