Original Poem By Kalli Dakos
If we were invited
To the White House for lunch,
QuickTime™ and aTIFF (Uncompressed) decompressor
are needed to see this picture.
Brian wouldn’t be ableTo steal Lolane’s chips. And Karen couldn’t squish upHer milk carton,After she blew bubbles into her milk,
QuickTime™ and aTIFF (Uncompressed) decompressor
are needed to see this picture.
And Seth couldn’t crawl under the table,
Chasing his lost pistachio nuts,
And Annie couldn’t say
Her spanish rice tasted so yucky
Sometimes we think about
Eating lunch at the White House
And all the manners we’d need,
How we’d have to sit very still,
And think before we speak,
And talk in whispers,
And keep our feet on the floor,
And never take a bite --Not even a tasting bite --
Until everyone has been served.
Maybe somedayWe’ll be ready
For lunch at the White House,
Or at ROSENDALE!
QuickTime™ and aTIFF (Uncompressed) decompressor
are needed to see this picture.
And doesn’t it make Rosendale a nicer place
for everyone!
