To understand His name is to

understand His person, purpose, and

plan.

Elohim – meaning Eternal Creator.

“El” comes from a root that means strong or power, and therefore, has the connotation of

“Strong One” or “Mighty Leader.”

Jeremiah 32:27 “I am the

LORD, the God of all mankind. Is anything

too hard for me?”

Deuteronomy 10:17 “For the LORD your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God, mighty and awesome,

who shows no partiality and accepts no bribes”

IMPLICATIONS OF THE

NAME ELOHIM

1. OUR GOD IS CREATOR AND

ETERNAL

The Hebrew word for “create” means “to create out of

nothing.”

Psalm 95:6

“Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord

our Maker…”

Psalm 121:2 “My help comes from the Lord, the Maker

of heaven and earth.”

Ecclesiastes 12:1 “Remember your

Creator in the days of your youth…”

Isaiah 45:9 “Woe to him who quarrels with his

Maker…”

Acts 17:24 “The God who made the

world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands.”

Revelation 4:11 “You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for

you created all things, and by your will they

were created and have their being.”
