SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA

Cathedral of Santiago● Style: Gothic.● Destroyed by the Muslims in

the late 10th century, it was completely rebuilt in the following century

● Lots of pilgrims go there to see the tomb of the apostle Saint James the Greater, Santiago.

BARCELONA

● It was built by Antoni Gaudí

● Its Architectural style is Modernism.

CÓRDOBAThe Mosque-Cathedral ● It´s one of the most amazing

monuments in the world.● Its Architectural style is from

Umayad origin.

● It was started to built during the reign of Abderraman I.

Spain Square in Seville

is located in Maria Luisa Park. It was built in 1928 for the Ibero-American Exhibition of 1929.

Renaissance Revival Style.Painted ceramic benches representing all the provinces of Spain are arranged round the square.

SEVILLA

MÉRIDAROMAN THEATRE ● Built between 16 and 15 B.C in the times of Marco

Vipsanio Agripa.● In the ancient times: performances and other arts.● Today: since 1933 home to the Festival of Classical

Theatre in Mérida.

CÁCERES

● It was used as the residence of the Catholic Monarchs, Isabel and Fernando, on their visits to this city.

● Built during the 16th century.

● Historic period: Renaissance.

GRANADA

The Alhambra● One of Spain’s major tourist attractions.● Red Female● Built as a small fortress in the 9th century,

also the emir’s palace.● Inspiring for many artists and writers.
