How To: Using Keepvid.com

Navigate to the YouTube video you would like to keep and watch. Here I’m looking for a video on “Sand Creek

Massacre”. In this How To I will be using Chrome. Why because Chrome is better and IE works poorly.

I have selected this one.

You might have to wait until a promo video runs and then you will be ready for the next stage.

Click the “Share” button.

Here you see a share URL show up.

Make sure this is highlighted. Then Right Click your mouse to bring up a menu. Remember you usually Left Click not

right click.

This is what the menu will look like. Click the copy option.

Open a new browser window and go to the www.keepvid.com website.

Click in the download area of the Keepvid webpage.

Right Click again and this time select the Paste option.

Here you can see that your share link has been correctly added to the KeepVid download area.

Do not pay attention to these areas!!!!

Click download.

You will receive a warning at the top that java needs your permission to click Always run on this site.

DO NOT PAY ATTENTION TO THE MIDDLE OF THE SCREEN!

DO NOT PAY ATTENTION TO THE MIDDLE OF THE SCREEN!

If you click on any part of this screen you WILL GET SPYWARE!

After you except to run Java from this site, you will have a Security Warning window pop up. Check the box that says

“I accept the risk and want to run this application.” Then run.

You will see a number of new options appear on the screen. Please please disregard these areas:

This area has your options.

You can tell the quality of the video by the “p” rating. Such as the 144p would be worse quality then the 480p.

Warning: Do not click the options that take you to another site like; snipmp3.com and keepsubs.com. Again you will

get spyware.

In this screen you can see the file at the bottom has been completely downloaded.

I will click the down arrow to bring up the menu options.

Select the “Show in folder” option.

This should show you the download file on your computer.

I would, but you don’t have to, move the picture to your video folder.

Once you are in the Video folder I would make a new folder with a category that fits the subject of the video.

This way you will have it for next time and next year.
