HOSTEL:

“A SUPERVISED INEXPENSIVE LODGING PLACE FOR

FUN.”

HISTORY•In 1912 in Altena Castle in Germany, Richard Schirrmann created the first permanent

Youth Hostel .

•These first Youth Hostels were an exponent of the ideology of the Youth Movement to let poor, city youngsters breathe fresh air

outdoors.

•The youths were supposed to manage the hostel themselves as much as possible to

build character as well as being physically active

outdoors.

HISTORY OF HOSTEL:

HISTORY•The idea rapidly spread overseas and eventually resulted in Hostelling International (HI) •It was a organization composed of more than 90 different Youth Hostel associations representing over 4500 Youth Hostels in over 80 countries.

•Some HI Youth Hostels cater more to school-aged children (sometimes through school trips) and parents with their children, whereas others are more for travellers intent on learning new cultures.

HOSTEL HELL OR HEAVEN:

HOSTEL LIFE HAS MANY ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES AS WELL.

IT’S THE SAYING OF D.H.LAWRENCE

“HOSTEL LIFE IS LIKE A FOREIGN LANGUAGE SOME MISPRONOUNCE IT AND

SOME DOESN’T.”

HOSTEL AS HEAVEN:

HOSTEL AS

HEAVEN

IT’S THE SAYING OF THOMAS HARDEY,

“HOSTEL LIFE IS THE END OF A LIFE OF SPOON-FEEDING.”

•IN HOSTELS, STUDENTS LEARN TO LIVE INDEPENDENTLY.

•THEY LEARN TO FOLLOW THE RIGHT PATH WITHOUT ANY GUIDANCE.

HOSTEL AS

HEAVEN

• IN A HOSTEL, STUDENTS CAN STUDY WHEN AND WHERE THEY WANT.

• HOSTEL LIFE PRODUCES IN THE STUDENTS A SENSE OF CONFIDENCE AND SELF-HELP.

HE HAS TO SET THE DAILY ROUTINE OF LIFE HIMSELF.

HOSTEL AS

HEAVEN•HOSTEL LIFE TEACHES THE VALUE OF PUNCTUALITY TO THE STUDENTS.

•HOSTEL LIFE TRAINS THE YOUTH FOR PRACTICAL LIFE.

•HOSTEL LIFE TEACHES TO TRUST ON OTHER.

ACCORADING TO NEWTON’S 3RD LAW

“EVERY ACTION HAS ITS RECTION.”

HOSTEL

AS

HELL

HOSTEL AS HELL:

ALL KIND OF STUDENTS ARE ACCOMODATED IN HOSTELS.

• GOOD BOYS • BAD BOYS

NOW WHEN GOOD PERSON GETS INTO BAD PERSON COMPANY,IT MAY CAUSE

MANY STUDENTS INDULGE IN NUMEROUS HARMFUL ACTIVITIES.

HOSTEL

AS

HELL

•A PERSON WHO IS LIVING IN A HOSTEL HE IS NOT CLOSE TO HIS FAMILY.

•HARD WORKING STUDENTS MAY BE RUINED AND REDUCED TO NOTHING.

•BAD FRIENDS CAN CAUSE IRREPARABLE LOSS OF STUDENTS.

HOSTEL

AS

HELL

•THE HOSTEL STUDENTS MISUSE THEIR FREEDOM AND SPOILS THEIR PROMISING CAREER.

•SOME BEGIN TO LOVE FILMS AND FASHIONS.

•SOME WASTE THEIR MONEY IN GAMBLING AND DRINKING.

HOSTEL

AS

HELL

•SOME HOSTELS ARE OVER CROWDED AND DO NOT PROVIDE HEALTHY AND COMFORTABLE LIVING.

•THE CROWDED ROOMS DO NOT ALLOW THE STUDENTS TO PAY PROPER ATTENTION TO THEIR STUDIES.

•OUR POLITICAL PARTIES ALSO MISUSE THE STUDENTS ESPECIALLY THE BOARDERS.

HOSTEL

HELL OR

HEAVEN

HELL BECOMES HEAVEN

•IT’S QUITE DIFFICULT TO ADJUST YOURSELF WITH NEW

ENVIRONMENT. IN HOSTEL THERE ARE STUDENTS FROM DIFFERENT

ENVIRONMENT AND FROM DIFFERENT LIVING STANDARD. AT

LEAST UP TO 1 MONTH SOME STUDENT FACE REALLY HARD

PHASE TO KILL THEIR TIME WITH THEIR ROOMMATES.

HOSTEL

HELL OR

HEAVEN

• BUT IF YOUR ROOMMATES ARE GOOD AND FRIENDLY YOUR LIFE BECOMES SO EASY. IF YOU START UNDERSTANDING THEM AND THEY START UNDERSTANDING YOU THEN IT BECOMES HEAVEN FOR YOU.

•BECAUSE IF ONCE UNDERSTANDING DEVELOPS BETWEEN THE PEOPLE AROUND YOU, ONE STARTS FEELING COMFORTABLE AND RELAXES.
