Tips for Safe Parking Each year $1.255 billion in personal items and accessories are stolen from vehicles in about 1.85 million thefts. Car break-ins are not just a problem in our neighborhood; many other Churches in other areas of the city and in the suburbs, shopping malls and outlying areas are having similar problems. Some helpful tips to avoid a car break-in: 1) lock your doors, close your windows 2) conceal your valuables or take them with you 3) keep inside of your car tidy with no tempting items worth stealing (even bags and coins may be tempting). The Utica Police Dept. is aware of the situation and is being vigilant with extra patrols. They have UHSRUWHGDUUHVWVORFDOO\EXWWKHEHVWDGYLFHLV³LI\RXVHHVRPH
