Healthy Media?

"Unlike a mirror,...Facebook can show a positive version of ourselves -that's a positive

psychological benefit." - Jeffery Hancock

"We're witnessing the transformation of the American

living room into a multiscreen communication and entertainment hub"

Generation X vs. Generation Y

Social Isolation

"In an age when Internet devices are always on, meeting face-to-face is

becoming increasingly rare as people choose to meet screen-

to-screen."

It is no surprise that parents

have concerns regarding their

children and social media...

Are their concerns valid?

Cuberbullying

This is a main cause of metal health issues because of teenagers ultimate dependence on the technologies that carry these social media applications.

"You can monitor your child's screen time, you can refuse

them devices, you can restrict their social media usage (when they are around you) and you can spy on them all you want,

but they will never live in a world without the web."

Understanding that social media exposure is a large cause for mental

health allows individuals to understand how to deal with and prevent mental

health issues

Media outlets are a great way to share ones life, but we must take our mental health into account first.
