For a stay less than 3 months, you can receive Public health coverage if you have the European Health Insurance Card.

You can obtain it in the National Social Security Institute of your country.

If you don’t have the card, the public health center can require you the payment of the amount of the health services.

You can register with the health service. The methods have to be explained by the relevant authorities in your EU country of origin.

When you have this documents, you should report to the Department of International Agreements of the National Social Security Institute in order to have their right to the health care system accredited.

About the health care coverage, you’ll have the right to the same public health care as any Catalan citizen.

If you need admissions or emergency care and you don’t have the documentation, the health center can require you the payment of the cost amount of the health services.

You must previously have received the form E112 (New form S2), this form must be issued by the relevant authorities in your EU country of origin.

Form S2 includes: The specific treatment. The address of the health center or service to

provide the treatment. The period during which it will be provided.

Before leaving your country, you must make a reservation in the relevant hospital in Catalonia.

For a stay less than 3 months, you must meet a series of administrative requirements to be able to access the public health services: Be registered on the Spanish census Pay Social Security Have a low income Opt for a comprehensive service through the payment of 82.33

euros per month. You must fill out the "Request for Access to the Public

Health Service" form available at the Customer Services Centre of your regional health care offices.

Health care recognized in the case of an emergency: For monitoring a pregnancy. To give birth or receive post-natal care. For all types of health care for children under the age of 18.

For a stay more than 3 months, you must register with the health service.
