Dr. Oliver Pin-Harry is a board-certified Prosthodontist in both Canada and USA. He is in full-time private practice at Burlington Prosthodontics, his referral-based clinic, specialized in Implants, Esthetic and Reconstructive Dentistry. Pin-Harry earned his DDS from L’Université de Montpellier, France and his Master of Science in Prosthodontics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA where he serves as Adjunct Assistant Professor in Graduate Prosthodontics. His accolades include a Research Fellowship Award from the American College of Prosthodontists for his clinical research as principal investigator on implant therapy of the edentulous maxilla. He continues to dedicate time to clinical research and advanced technology to achieve optimal patient-centered outcomes. Dr. Niemczyk graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, receiving his DMD in 1982 and his postgraduate Endodontic Certificate in 1984. He was appointed clinical assistant professor in the Department of Endodontics in 1984, and established a private practice limited to Endodontics in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania, which he still maintains. He lectured extensively within the SDM at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels and was later named to the full-time position of director of Undergraduate Endodontics.
Dr. Niemczyk also served as the interim post graduate director and endodontic clinic director during his tenure at the SDM. Since 1995, Dr. Niemczyk has been the director of Endodontic Microsurgery at Harvard University in Boston, Massachusetts and Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. He serves as a surgical consultant to the postgraduate endodontic program at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics, and a member of the Pennsylvania and New Jersey Dental Associations, AAE, Delta Sigma Delta Dental Fraternity and numerous study clubs.

Dr. Michael Sigal is a retired Professor Emeritus of Pediatric Dentistry at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto where he was the Director of the MSc Graduate Specialty Program in Pediatric Dentistry for more than 20 years. He was also the Dentist-in-Chief and Co-director of the Mount Sinai Hospital Dental Residency Program for 15 years. A graduate of the Faculty of Dentistry University of Toronto (DDS 79, internship 80, Diploma Pedodontics 82, MSc 84), he has devoted his academic and clinical career over the past three decades to improving and providing dental care
to children of all ages, especially those that are underprivileged and to persons with special needs or disabilities of all ages. He has now joined Dr. Alison Sigal at Little Bird Pediatric Dentistry in Milton Ontario to provide community-based care to children and persons with special needs in a clinic designed around the behavioural needs of children and persons with disabilities. He continues to undertake research in these areas and has published and given many presentations on pediatric dentistry and dentistry for persons who are disabled or medically compromised of all ages.
Dr. Alison Sigal graduated from McMaster University with an Honours degree in Kinesiology before attending the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery and Master of Science Degree with Specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry. Between programs, she completed a hospital-based residency at Mount Sinai Hospital (Toronto). She is currently practicing in Milton, ON at Little Bird Pediatric Dentistry, which she opened in 2017 to provide comprehensive oral care to all children from birth onwards and persons with special needs of all ages.In 2008, she founded
the Federal Non-Profit Organization “Oral Health Total Health”, dedicated to advocating, educating, and improving access to oral health care for persons with special needs. She is also the primary dental consultant to Special Olympics Ontario – “Healthy Smiles” initiative. She has received additional training in Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy, frenum

assessment/care and Buteyko Breathing. She has presented and been invited as the keynote speaker for future meetings on both airway centric pediatric health care and dental care for persons with special needs of all ages.

Dr. Mark Eckler has been a certified orthodontist for almost 25 years. He went to the University of Western Ontario and received his Master of Science and Orthodontic diploma from St. Louis University. Mark is presently a RCDSO councillor and has given over 100 seminars on Customer Service including being a repeat speaker at the ODA’s ASM. He is married, has two teenage daughters and a rescue dog. Mark is avid downhill skier,
has run half and full marathons (even though it might not look like it) and has climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro.
Sandie Baillargeon is a leading authority on how to increase the effectiveness of dental business systems. She is the author of two textbooks, Dental Office Administration and The Canadian Dental Office Administrator, published by Nelson Canada. Sandie is the owner and operator of Dental Office Consulting Services, which specializes in dental business planning, staff development, consulting and continuing education seminars.
She created the first Certificate Course in Dental Practice Management at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry. Sandie has lectured at dental faculties across North America and has had articles published in the Journal of the Canadian Dental Association, Oral Health Magazine and writes a weekly blog for Oral Health, Open Wide Group and Monday Morning Management Moments with DOCS.

Event Description:DR. KIM HANSEN
Hailing from Brockville Ontario, Dr. Hansen has been a general practitioner in nearby Prescott since 1985. After graduating from the University of Western Ontario in 1981 with an Honours degree in Microbiology and Immunology, he went on to graduate from Western School of Dentistry. Dr. Hansen became involved with organized dentistry and the ODA when he was “volunteered” to serve with his component society and was President
of the Brockville Dental Association from 1993 to 2013. From 2000 to 2013, he chaired its Mediations Committee and represented his component society as Councillor from 2010 to 2013 (and was as an alternate under the previous ODA Board of Governors). At the provincial level, he served on the Fluoride Task Force and the Prioritization of Programs, Services and Products Working Group, and chaired the Information Technology Sub-Committee. He was a member of the Audit, Finance and Risk Committee and currently chairs the Governance and Nominating Committee. Dr. Hansen is also a Political Contact Dentist for the Eastern Region and has been a Board member since 2013.

The Professional Liability Program provides malpractice protection and risk management advice to Ontario dentists. This interactive session on communication will be presented by two PLP professional staff members. It will include an introduction to PLP and its services, followed by a discussion of the the value of effective communication within the healthcare setting. The presenters will describe basic and advanced communication techniques and offer guidance on how to avoid communication pitfalls.

Free for HPDA members.Non-HPDA members welcome for $99 + HST.
This course is open to all ODA member dentists.
