New Peak Design Benefits

Increased landfill volume and life expectancy Max. capacity expectancy shifts from 2075 t0 2100

Minimizes user fee increases If we needed to move to alternate disposal method (i.e.

shipping waste out of region) fees would increase substantially

Economic Additional billion dollars worth of airspace

Would not affect smell or noise levels

New Peak Design Benefits (cont.)

No major costs associated with shift to new fill plan Would only require minor changes to infrastructure

Visual impact would be minimized as landfill grows Progressive closure: side slopes would be revegetated as the

landfill grows in order to reduce aesthetic impacts. Blends into natural terrain of surrounding Tutt Mountain and

Bredin Hill

More flexibility City Council would have the option to adjust and slow

landfill growth at any time. The 20 meter elevation increase does not have to be fully

realized, but gives City Council’s of the future the option.
