What is SEO and why do you need it?

Game of Search Engine & Keywords SEO is the acronym for Search Engine Optimization. SEO

is a set of strategies designed to make a target website appear higher in the SERP (search engine results page) for a given keyword or keyword phrases.

Google, Yahoo & Bing. By far the vast majority of Internet Surfers out there use one of the major search engines: Google, Yahoo, or Bing to locate goods and services online (Yahoo and Bing now share the same results). Google dominates the search world with at least 80 percent of the market. Therefore, most SEO is geared towards achieving the best 'Page Ranks' on Google although there may be some who wish to rank well in Yahoo or Bing.

What is 'Page Rank’? 'Page Rank' - is the term used to quantify a websites

authority on the Internet. 'Page Rank' is a number between 0 and 10, with ten being the highest possible score. The more authority a website is deemed to have, the higher the 'Page Rank' and the higher the website will appear in the search query results. However, a high 'Page Rank' does not guarantee a top spot in the SERP. Likewise, a low 'Page Rank' does not automatically mean a website will appear low in the SERP. High SERP results and high 'Page Rank' are related but there is not a direct correlation between the two.

Click-through rate(CTR) is the ratio of users who click on a specific link to the number of total users who view a page, email, or advertisement. It is commonly used to measure the success of an online advertising campaign for a particular website as well as the effectiveness of email campaigns.
