A Story… Inspired By:

Like a library… but with movies instead of books

Where was the experimentation?

Where was the R&D?

Which leads me back to…

Francis J. Underwood. Politician.

“For those of us climbing to the top of the food chain, there can be no mercy. There is but one rule: hunt or be hunted.”!

An Exercise

A Little Eye Candy"(hopefully)

3 Principle Goals of a University

1)  Formation of young people through education (the identification of their authentic selves)

2)  The promotion of faculty / scholarship (the pursuit of

knowledge) 3)  Service for the common good *The three are intimately connected to each other and are enhanced by real interaction, that requires some form of face to face engagement

Our Hypothesis

In-person experience (and “place”) will continue to be important…

30 years from now… "students will still want to come to a place...

… where they can be welcomed by people (we’ll call faculty) into an environment of learning…

… where the most precious resource will still be the time when a faculty member is “face to face”, interacting with a student.

Every use of technology strives to enrich & maximize opportunities for these faculty-student interactions.

We don’t know what the “future university” will look like

in 30 years
