GENERATION TEACH develops talented and diverse students with local pathways into careers in education.
WHAT WE DO
We recruit and screen top-
third undergraduates. We
train and immerse them in
summer teaching experiences
in urban schools with daily
coaching and feedback. And
then, we place Fellows in
classrooms with our partners
and invite them back as
coaches and leaders to build
the next generation of urban
teachers.
WHO WE AREWe are a national team,
driven by five core values,
and committed to partnering
with local communities to
build place-based pipelines
of exemplary educators, who
are invested in the students,
schools, and communities
they serve. We launched
in Denver in 2014 and are
expanding in Denver and
opening in Boston in 2015.
WHY WE EXISTWe believe that teachers, like
doctors, are made, not born.
But not everyone has what it
takes to become a doctor...or
a teacher. We believe teach-
er development should start
earlier and occur in concert
with schools. Together, we
build local pipelines of prov-
en teachers with the experi-
ence, coaching, training, and
records of effectiveness nec-
essary for success on day one
and retention past year five.
