PRESENTED BY THE PROVIDENCE DOWNTOWN IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT
Since 2005, the Providence Downtown Improvement District
(DID) has provided supplemental clean and safe services
downtown. We advocate for major downtown initiatives,
such as streetscape and sidewalk improvements, and we
manage downtown landscaping, hospitality, marketing and
economic development projects. Our programs enhance
existing city services, giving special attention to the area
bounded by Route 95, Memorial Boulevard, Citizens Plaza,
the Providence River, and the former I-195. DID projects are
funded by an assessment on downtown property owners
and are managed by our Board of Directors.

Last year, in Travel + Leisure’s 8th annual America’s Favorite Cities survey, readers ranked Providence as the top city overall. How did we earn the #1 spot? Our food scene certainly played a major role, with readers ranking us #1 for bakeries and diners, #2 for hamburgers, pizza, sandwiches, food trucks, and notable restaurants, and #3 for brunch and coffee. T+L writer Nikki Ekstein outlined 5 reasons to visit, calling Providence a “legitimate culinary capital.” We couldn’t agree more.

Providence has more in common with our big city neighbors than you might expect. Plenty of world-class activities are concentrated downtown, just on a smaller scale. Watch concerts, plays and sporting events; experience WaterFire; listen to lectures; go gallery hopping; lace up a pair of ice skates, or simply wander through the RISD Museum.
Plan ahead for your visit! Check out our online events calendar at DOWNTOWNPROVIDENCE.COM.

PRESENTED BY THE PROVIDENCE DOWNTOWN IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT
Since 2005, the Providence Downtown Improvement District
(DID) has provided supplemental clean and safe services
downtown. We advocate for major downtown initiatives,
such as streetscape and sidewalk improvements, and we
manage downtown landscaping, hospitality, marketing and
economic development projects. Our programs enhance
existing city services, giving special attention to the area
bounded by Route 95, Memorial Boulevard, Citizens Plaza,
the Providence River, and the former I-195. DID projects are
funded by an assessment on downtown property owners
and are managed by our Board of Directors.

PRESENTED BY THE PROVIDENCE DOWNTOWN IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT
Since 2005, the Providence Downtown Improvement District
(DID) has provided supplemental clean and safe services
downtown. We advocate for major downtown initiatives,
such as streetscape and sidewalk improvements, and we
manage downtown landscaping, hospitality, marketing and
economic development projects. Our programs enhance
existing city services, giving special attention to the area
bounded by Route 95, Memorial Boulevard, Citizens Plaza,
the Providence River, and the former I-195. DID projects are
funded by an assessment on downtown property owners
and are managed by our Board of Directors.
