How I created my front cover

Model-Tianesha

Firstly I opened InDesign. This came up and I decided whether I wanted a

document, book or library. I chose document.

It then asked me how many pages I wanted. As I am creating my front cover I

only typed in 1.

So here we begin with a blank A4 sheet

I then used the rectangle tool with the x in to draw a box over the whole of the two pages. This is so I can place

an image on top.

So now I am going to place my Image. I am going to do

this by going to file then place.

Here you can see that this is the foundation of my

magazine.

I then created a text box and chose an appropriate font for the title of the

magazine. I chose for the title to be white as it stands out against the image and

contrast wit the background.

The tool I used to create spaces between the letters

I then placed another underlay box so I could place

an image

So here the barcode has been placed. I decided to leave it landscape and placed at the right bottom corner of

the page.

Next I began placing text. I placed a text box and wrote the word

exclusive. I chose the font consolas, size 80 and colour white.

I then placed another text box and positioned it directly underneath the other one as they are

linked. The font I chose was minion pro, the size was 36 and the colour was white. I chose white as it contrasted with the background nicely so it

stood out.

I then created another text box and placed the word plus and the artists names. I chose the colour white as it was placed on top of the image

which is black.

I created another text box and wrote 40 in font consolas, size 50 and colours black and red. I chose for the “40” to be in red so it stood out

more and so it would catch the readers attention. The textbox was aligned to the right . I

then wrote “greatest hits” in font minion pro, size 24 and colour black so it contrasted.

The next piece of text was an artists name and about his new album. I chose for the artists

name to be in white and of a much bigger font than the rest of the text. I also decided that the name of the album should be in red so it stood out but still the same font as the line before.

Finally I placed the models singing name on the bottom left of the page in font

minion pro and size 100. I put the name of the artist in red so it stood out and the

rest of the text black and a slightly smaller font of x as it less relevant.
