Fortescue’s Vocational Training and Employment Centre (VTEC)
VTECs unique philosophy is based on providing training for guaranteed employment, which has resulted in hundreds of new career opportunities for Aboriginal people.
Training includes:• Town based training• Health and Wellbeing program• Fortescue and TAFE training• Mine site training• Personal and family support• High level mentoring and coaching
in a culturally sensitive manner
Who can apply?• Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander• Must be 18 years of age or older• Be a permanent resident of the Town of Port Hedland
or City of Karratha (includes Roebourne, Wickham, Point Samson and Dampier)
Candidates will complete or demonstrate:• Fortescue inductions• Fortescue Values• Fortescue Life Saving Choices• Preparation for the workplace (including 12 hour shifts)• Relevant machinery training• Positive attitude
