Force: Homework Tasks

Homework 1

Take your own photos of machinery (for example: under the hood of a car). Create drawings from the photos using a range of media. Make a visual connection to Jean Tingueley.

Homework 2

Bring in an object that you can take apart. Try to choose an object with lots of different parts to it, like an old broken radio or phone.

Homework 3

Create your own action shots using either your own photos or found images.Take 3 images to suggest a story/narrative

Homework 4

Take photos of someone you know in different positions.Cut out the figures and place them onto different backgrouds giving the impression of defying gravity. Use collage or Photoshop to create several different images.

Homework 5

Take close-up photos of people’s faces (a range of expressions). Print them out and experiment by writing powerful messages, song lyrics or poetry on top in different fonts and languages. Research Shirin Neshat and Barbara Kruger

Homework 6

Create a drawing or painting as a response to a current political event that you feel strongly about. Research and Picasso’s “Guernica” and accompany this with a small transcription.(You could also look at the work of Emil Nolde and Anselm Kiefer.)
