Navantia has three ship repair centres close to important shipping lanes on the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea:

• Fene-Ferrol (Northwest Atlantic coast)• Cartagena (Mediterranean coast) • Cádiz-San Fernando (Straits of Gibraltar)

These ship repair centres enjoy a privileged climate that enables them to remain operational all the year round for a full 365 days. As well as this, they are located in cities that have the infrastructure and all the necessary facilities to make the stopover for crews satisfactory while repair work is carried out.

The centres have spacious and modern facilities at their disposal where some 200 merchant and naval ships of every class are repaired each year, from gas carriers down to yachts and from aircraft carriers down to patrol boats.

They have at their command a total of 12 drydocks and 1 fl oating drydock, cranes with a lifting capacity of more than 200 tonnes as well as a synchrolift and approximately 7,000 metres of wharf for docking, providing us with a capacity for the simultaneous careening of up to 12 ships.

Navantia Ship Repairs is qualifi ed to carry out work that is technically extremely complex and highly sophisticated such as the repair of LNG carriers, an area in which the company has specialised since 1992, the lengthening of ships, modernisation programmes such as CAVIMAR to improve the quality of life at sea aboard the Spanish Navy’s ships, refi ts, conversions and many other types of projects.

Over and above this, Navantia’s area of shiprepairs has a workforce of 600 highly qualifi ed personnel and the support of fi rst-rate auxiliary industry that enables the company to undertake any kind of job with the guarantee of speed and top quality work. Navantia’s service provision in the area of shiprepairs is backed by international certifi cation of the company’s high standards of quality, safety and environmental systems:
