It is traditional to get married on Saint Anthony’s day as he is the Saint of Love. In Lisbon, every year, there are hundreds of weddings on that day.

Pilgrimages
On the 13th May there is a big pilgrimage to the Sanctuary of Fátima, People walk many kilometres to get there, usually to pay a promise to the Saint.
Bullfights
In Portugal there are some places where you can see bullfights. The most famous ones are: Póvoa de Varzim, Lisbon and Barrancos.
It forbidden to kill the bull on the arena.

It is the act of peeling the corn’s skin. It was a very traditional Portuguese agricultural activity as well as a social event.

The picking of the grapes is also a very traditional agricultural activity and also a social event.

Popular festivals usually take place in the summer. Its an event that brings together religion and amusement. There is a market, music and dances together with masses and processions.
