BAREILLYPOSITIVE PARENTING ”Whenever we face a challenge, the response can be flight or fight - our body prepares toeither run away or to tackle it head-on.”

Similarly  studying  isn’t always a  cake-walk  , many  students  find  the going pretty  tough  atone time or another.

No worries!    If it  is all getting  too much to tackle,  your child  is  in  the  right place.

Because  the   facilitators of   G.D. Goenka Public  School, Kanpur, are always  standingready, with a reassuring hug and powerful management tactics to mentor all students tosuccessfully overcome the heightened performance anxiety as well as exam stress.

However, the big question that parents and facilitators face is-

How to calm a Panic Bear that can let  things get out of perspective..?

* By not comparing a child to others.

( “ No man is an island, but there’s something to be said for becoming one - at least interms of study progress.”)

* By never letting a child suffer due to low self esteem

( All we can ask from them is that they do their best)

* Explaining how to stay focused on the process and not the result...

*Assuring them that the mini-goals they set each day are % under their control and they will achieve them.

* Allowing your child to say -. “ No!”

( Being a parent, you, as no one else, know that his/her schedule is rammed, and a child already has “ too many plates spinning”...)

* Showing your child the right strategic way to deal with invitations they accept, extra classes they go to, and the hobby projects whichthey undertake.

*LESS can sometimes be MORE: it is certainly better to have a manageable schedule, doing things their way and feeling good about liferather than doubting their abilities and potential.

Don’t  you  think  that  exams only measure a  tiny proportion  of what makes  a child amazing.  Remember, every  child  is unique  and  isblessed with more talents than one can imagine.

As educators, we, at G.D.Goenka Public School, Kanpur - always remember those special , unique and incredible qualities of ourstudents that makes them stand apart from others such as

Kindness and Humanity

Communication and social skills

The talents they exhibit on sports pitch, in performing arts like drama,

music, dance or in creative fields like poem composition, story telling,

painting etc.

To succeed  in everyday study process,  the  right way  for grasping

knowledge should be shown to students , where they get an exposure in

ALTERNATIVE WAYS of learning. Ideas that integrate different methods of

study, are definitely followed by a better outcome than just focussing on

traditional teaching methods.

Teachings with diversified goals will  teach  children   to  focus on  :

 a)  the strongest  impact  on  their  long-term  life  goals

 b)  the  greatest  happiness &  fulfillment

...so that if one goal isn’t going how we intended, there is always another

one; we can still take pride in ourselves and this is the core of the

Experiential Teachings which we shall cover in our next article.

Happiness and Prosperity  to all. Stay safe,  stay healthy.

Humour and good-naturedness
