Hunger Action Network of NYS will be holding their annual meeting on

Monday Sept 28th from 9:30-4:00 pm at Westminster. All are welcome.

The keynote speaker will be Jessica Powers from WhyHunger, and work-

shops will be offered on the Fight for $15, community organizing, and so-

cial determinants of hunger and poverty. Suggested donation of $10 for

Hunger Action Network members, and $15 for non-members. Contact Deb

Catozzi for more information: debcatozzi@gmail.com 518-434-7371.

FOCUS connected people will have registration costs covered. Call the

FOCUS office to get your name on the list.

Congress will be returning from August

recess, and one of their first priorities is

the Child Nutrition Reauthorization.

These bills help provide summer meals

for children who would otherwise receive

meals at school, and provide some ex-

panded SNAP benefits for families with

children over the summer.

Please take a moment and sign this peti-

tion from our partner Bread for the World.

Faith for a Fair NY will be holding their annual retreat October 11th-13th.

We’ll look at successful movements in New York and across the country -

including the Fight for $15 and Moral Mondays - and look ahead to what

we can expect in the coming year. You can register here. FOCUS scholar-

ships are available. Contact Joe Paparone for more information.
