Serious?

5GOLDEN RULESYou wanna remember in first aid

If you’re old enough to be reading this…

If you’re old enough to be reading this…

…you’re old enough to have experienced injuries…

…to have bled…

Despite this, that and blah, blah, blah, you survived and still have tomorrows because…

…you excel at First Aid…

…you knew what to do when you needed help…

…and did what needed be done in time.

…you knew what to do when you needed help…

What I’m asserting is…if you could help yourself, you can help others.

What I’m asserting is…if you could help yourself, you can help others.

Looking at stats, nearly 173 people died in workplaces around the world last year…

In more occasions than we can happily accept…

“tomorrow” depends on…

Whether they get the right aid…

…at the right time…

…at the right time…

…or not.

Let’s offer what we can to people, bearing in mind these…

You wanna remember in first aid

5 GOLDEN RULES

Before getting to Rule (1)

The Foundation

First Aid is…

…the act of human love you can exercise for someone when they need medical attention but yet to get it.

First Aid is…

And as such, it aims…

Treatment

Treatment

I

Timely treatment saves lives.

G.R (2) To reduce anxiety if not to relax/comfort…

Minus the fear, an injured person still has an

avalanche of problems.

Take anxiety out of the equation, facilitation of

treatment becomes a lot easier.

G.R (3) To reduce if not end pain…

Part of Medicine says: alleviate the pain even if you can’t eradicate the

underlying problem.

Quality of life doesn’t just mean the absence of disease or infirmity.

When you sense someone in need of first aid…

Help…

G.R (4) Watch out for your own safety.

You’re engaging to solve the problem in the first place, not to become the next problem yourself… So…

G.R (4) Watch out for your own safety.

If it doesn’t look safe for you to engage… first…

You’re engaging to solve the problem in the first place, not to become the next problem yourself… So…

G.R (4) Watch out for your own safety.

G.R (5) Call for help when it seems available.

You needn’t solo. Believe it or not, people will energetically and voluntarily come to the aid of someone who is aiding someone.

Hazard

Person

And…for a start…

Hazard Person

Separate the person from the hazard, where Hazard is heavier than Person.e.g. When a part of a building crushes down on a person and there is more to crush down… Or…

Person Hazard

Separate the hazard from the person, where Person is heavier than Hazard.e.g. When there is a splinter in your thumb…

When there is only one person requiring help…

Treat first.

Treat first. Call for help later.

But if you have to help more than one person at once…

Call for help first. You sure can’t help ‘em all alone. And then…

Treat the one who is bleeding profusely…

…as this may lead to death due to hypovolaemic shock extreme blood loss…

…and then the one whose breathing/heartbeat stopped…

…as the brain dies within 4 seconds of hypoxia oxygen shortage…

…and then the one who is unconcious with a pulse…

…in that order.

LET’S RECAP!

Some final words

Speaking about First aid, you don’t just do that. Correct measures need to be learned…

…trained…

…and practiced.

While it remains a tough truth that you can’t just do first aid with these rules, it is worth noting that every first aid measure stems out from them.

When calling the ambulance isn’t good enough, by bringing those rules to action with good judgment and exercise of common sense, you might save someone perhaps.
