Learning how to make turron

Turrón (Tagalog: turon) is a Philippine snack. A typical turrón is plantain and jackfruit wrapped in a springroll wrapper, dipped in brown sugar, then fried. These are also known as banana fritters.

We made the turrons and put them together with other filipino snacks, made by the rest of the Elementary School, and donated them to the support staff here at ISM. We also had a chance to taste the yummy Filipino snack!

Listening to a Filipino Tale

We had a chance to take a walk through a museum filled with artifacts from the Filipino culture.

Images of ISM faculty and students providing support to

the victims from typhoon Ondoy.

Recycled materials

were used be the first

graders to create a city.

Students were able to take a closer look at handicrafts made in the

Philippines by local Filipinos.

Painting murals to hang up around the school was a blast!

Jeepnies around the Philippines are covered with tons of art! Here we were able to decorate our own jeepnies.

We got a chance to learn some Filipino games.

Time for the march to help support the victims from Typhoon Ondoy. This was put on by the Middle and High School students.
