An embodiment or representation of an

Hyperbole or Exaggeration

Over stating a statement or

situation.

Metonym

Naming of a thing by its symbolic

attribute.

Synecdoche

A part is put for a whole or a whole for

a part.

Litotes

An assertion is made by means of negation

or understatement.

Antithesis

The balancing of contrasted words or ideas against each

other.

Irony or Sarcasm

To signify the opposite of what is

usually express.

Epigram

Contrasting of words or ideas in a sentence

in a way of provoking.

Rhetorical Question

answer.

Use to express some characteristics

attributes or quality.

Euphemism

A mild or agreeable expression substituted for
