2009 – 2012 batch alumnus Mr. Masthan Shareef visited the CSE Department of Narayana
Engineering College, Nellore on 2nd February 2018. An interaction program between the
alumnus and the students of CSE department was organized to give an inspiration to the
students. Mr. Masthan Shareef shared his experiences with the students and motivated
them to work hard to lay out a smooth road towards an excellent career.

A Seminar on “Career Guidance for Higher Education” in association with Princeton Review,
New Delhi was organized in Narayana Engineering College, Nellore on 3rd February 2018.
Students of CSE department were given directions on how to realize their aspirations to
pursue their higher education. Various alternatives and scope of career path for each course
of higher education were vividly explained by the resource person. The students were
immensely inspired by the program.

Title: Awareness on “Puraseva” Mobile Application

An awareness program on a new mobile application was organized at C Block Auditorium in
Narayana Engineering College, Nellore on 3rd February 2018. Health Officer from Nellore
served as the resource person and highlighted the importance of reporting about problems
in surroundings to officials in municipal office so that action could be taken and the problem
could be resolved in short turnaround time. A mobile application called “Puraseva” that has
been launched to facilitate problem reporting was demonstrated in the program. Faculty
members of CSE department attended the program.

An aptitude test covering Logical Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning and Mathematical skills was
conducted under the banner of Association of Computer Engineers (ACE) in Srinivasa
Ramanujan Auditorium of CSE Department from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm on 17th Februrary
2018. The test was conducted for the second year B. Tech students by the CSE Faculty
members Mr. K. J. Sri Harsha and Mr. V. Vamsivardhan Reddy. The test was aimed at giving
practice to the students in writing aptitude tests and also to know their levels of
performance in the test so that they could get to know their strengths and weaknesses in
the different sections of aptitude test.

Title: Biggest Foodie Contest

Venue: A Block Lawn, Narayana Engineering College, Nellore

A Biggest Foodie Contest was organized in Narayana Engineering College on 6th February
2018 at the A Block lawn. The contest was conducted by Barbeque Nation (Chain of
Restaurants), Nellore. Students from CSE Department participated in the contest and won
the second prize in the contest. Participation certificates were awarded by Barbeque Nation
to all participants.

Title: One Week FDP on “Python”

A one week Faculty Development Program on “Python” was organized in the CSE
department from 8th February 2018 to 14th February 2018. The FDP was inaugurated by Dr.
B. Geetha Vani, Professor and Head, CSE Department, Narayana Engineering College,
Nellore on 8th February 2018. Mr. K. J. Sri Harsha serving as an Assistant Professor in the
CSE Department of Narayana Engineering Colelge, Nellore conducted the FDP. The FDP was
aimed at providing a good foundation in programming using Python Language. Faculty
members of CSE Department and MCA Department of Narayana Engineering College were
invited for the FDP Program.

An industrial visit to a software concern named Infocepts at Chennai was organized for the
final year students of B. Tech on the 15th of February 2018. The students were given an
introduction about the company followed by the software life cycle, software development
and testing tools and documentation procedures followed in Infocepts. Students also had a
great opportunity to interact with the Executive Vice President, Mr. Satheesh Thalapalli who
was very liberal to share his time to answer questions posed by the students of the CSE
department. The visit ended with a note of gratitude to Infocepts, by the class
representatives of the final year.

his work experiences with the students of CSE Department and inspired them by his
influential speech. He also answered many interesting questions raised by the students and
concluded the lecture with a sweet note on his memories in the college.

department attended the seminar. The seminar was presented by Mrs. Sudha Suchitra
Reddy, Director, Lore Agile Systems, Georgia, USA. The topics that were covered in the
seminar include Software Development Life Cycle, Agile Model, Scaled Agile and Devops,
Roles and Responsibilities of Developers and Testers and Project Maintenance. The resource
person also pointed out many e-resources relating to the topic to understand the subject
better. The students were immensely inspired by the program.

II Year B. Tech. students of the CSE Department got a rare opportunity to visit the Satish
Dhawan Space Centre, SHAR at Sriharikota on 22nd of February 2018. They were briefed
with information on the various activities of the Indian Space Program by Mr. P.
Vishwananda Sharma, Head, Public Outreach and Space Museum, Satish Dhawan Space
Centre, SHAR, Sriharikota. Students also visited the Space Museum and were awed by the
articles and models in the museum. Students were also given an opportunity to interact
with the space scientists to discuss about the research activities involved in the Indian
Space Program.
Satish Dhawan Space Centre, SHAR, Sriharikota – Organization Profile Satish Dhawan Space Centre SHAR (SDSC SHAR), Sriharikota, the Spaceport of India, is
one of the lead centres of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Department of Space
(DOS), Government of India. The Centre provides world class launch base infrastructure for
national and international customers in accomplishing diverse launch vehicle/satellite
missions for remote sensing, communication, navigation & scientific purposes and is one
among the best known names of the Spaceports of the world today. The space centre,
which was popularly known as SHAR (Sriharikota Range) was renamed as Satish Dhawan
Space Centre SHAR on September 5, 2002, in fond memory of Prof. Satish Dhawan, former
Chairman of ISRO.
