and sellers alike. “With sellers, we tell them exactlywhat they’re going to be getting for their marketing andwhat I’m going to do to earn the commission,” Ava ex-plains. “For our buyers we do a buyer presentation thatincludes everything a real estate professional can do forthem. Providing those guarantees gives people a senseof security. With so much done online today, havingthat piece of paper clients can hold in their hands makesit feel more official.”

Ava’s commitment to her clients and the community hasbeen rewarded with both industry accolades and a robustword-of-mouth referral network, with more than threequarters of her business coming in the form of repeatclients and referrals. Her community work includesserving on three boards. She is the Vice President of theAlaska Association of REALTORS® and has receivedtheir Gratitude Award for her volunteer work with them.She also serves as the Treasurer for the AnchorageBoard of REALTORS®, and as the Vice President of theAnchorage Young Professionals Network. Additionally,she was recognized as Associate of the Year in 2013, ’14and ’15 and has received the Customer Service Award.

Looking ahead, Ava is excited about continuing to growher team and experiencing what she enjoys the mostabout being in the business. “I lovethe feeling I get when the trans-action is closed and the clientsare satisfied. Seeing the smileson their faces and knowing theyhave joy in their hearts is themost rewarding part.”

When she just was just 20,Ava Anderson had a plan.She was going to begin in-vesting in real estate bybuying a duplex, living inhalf and renting out theother half. Everything wasgoing along nicely; untilan electrical fire set off aseries of events that endedin a lengthy lawsuit. As itturned out, ‘40s-era fabric-covered wiring caused thefire, the property wasn’tzoned as a duplex, and the

city condemned half the building. For many, that expe-rience would be enough to make them turn away fromreal estate. But Ava had the opposite reaction. “Goingthrough that taught me that real estate isn’t just aboutputting people in houses,” Ava explains. “There’s all ofthe due diligence and detail work, which I knew I’d begood at and enjoy because I’m very detail-oriented.”

Now more than two decades into her successful real estatecareer, Ava has helped countless clients avoid the pitfallsshe experienced and allowed them to experience a smoothtransaction when buying or selling a home. She and herwife manage The Anderson Group and work with clientsthroughout south central Alaska, helping them buy, sell andinvest in new construction, condos, resale homes, land,and housing subsidized by Cook Inlet Housing Authority.

Clients who work with Ava can count on her to be a tire-less advocate on their behalf, no matter the property’sprice point. “I don’t take any transaction lightly,” Avasays. “You’re dealing with people’s largest investment,and I treat every single one as if it were my own, whetherbuying or selling.” Additionally, she has never forgottenher own trying real estate experience and does her best toensure her clients never go through even a fraction of thestress she endured. “We perform our due diligence andcheck properties to the best of our ability,” she says. “Ourgoal is to ensure the client is always taken care of.”

The team places a premium on customer care and provid-ing an outstanding client experience. “Customer service
