Biopac Tutorial Answer SheetTHIS ASSIGNMENT MUST BE TURNED IN AT THE BEGINNING OF HUMAN SENSES LAB (2/16-2/20). NO LATE SUBMISSIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED! THIS IS A GROUP ASSIGNMENT. PRINT OUT ONE HARD COPY OF THIS ANSWER SHEET BEFORE COMING TO LAB. EVERYONE MUST CONTRIBUTE TO THIS ASSIGNMENT. GROUP MEMBERS HAVE THE RIGHT TO LEAVE OUT NAMES OF PEERS THAT DO NOT CONTRIBUTE. (25 pts)

Section no. 20Names (last, first): Guzman, Peter Marquez, Gabriel Masango, Esebe Neihart, Maegan1. List the names of the markers found in your data file. List them in order from left to right. Control, Jendrassik, Mental, Voluntary knee jerk, Voluntary extension

Data table 1: Record the measurements for the #1 marker here. Hammer strike amplitude (mV)Goniometer (p-p)(angular displacement)Stimulus to EMG (T) (msec)

1. When would you need to use the autoscale waveforms? Describe what it does to the graph. The Autoscale Waveforms are used to optimize the vertical scale of all waveforms. This allows us to center all waveforms in the graph and display the entire recording after zooming in. Autoscale Waveforms keeps the highlighted area of the graph visible as it is magnified.

2. When would you need to use the horizontal autoscale? Describe what it does to the graph. The Horizontal Autoscale is used to optimize the horizontal (time) scale of all waveforms. This adjusts the horizontal scale so that the left side of the screen is the start of the recording, and the right side of the screen displays the end of the recording. Horizontal Autoscale is used to quickly display the entire recording after being magnified.

3. Describe the process to highlight and zoom in on a single peak. How is this different from just clicking on the screen with the zoom icon? Highlighting and zooming on a single peak allows you to choose a specific area to magnify on the graph. In order to do so, you first click on the magnifying glass zoom icon, then click to the upper left of the area you want to start the zoom, including the peak of the amplitude. Next, drag your cursor to the bottom right of the graph where you want the zoom to end. The graph will then be zoomed to the specific area that was highlighted. However, clicking on the screen with the zoom icon gradually magnifies the graph. But, it does not specifically zoom in on certain wavelengths. It simply zooms in on the entire graph. The zoom is most noticeable in the goniometer section. This type of zoom is not as useful in the Reflex Hammer Strike and EMG sections.
