The self-cleaning concept
AllFlygtN-pumpshavethesameself-cleaningperformanceregardlessofdutypoint.
Stage 1.Mostsolidobjectsenteringthepumpwillpassthroughtheimpellerbetweentheimpellervanes.Ifanobjectgetscaughtontheleadingedgeofoneofthevanes,itwillslidealongthebacksweptshapetowardstheperimeteroftheinlet.
Stage 2.Thesolidobjectwillslidealongthetipoftheimpellervaneinsidethereliefgroove.Theguidepinintheinsertringwillpushalltypesofsolidsawayfromthecenteroftheimpel-ler,alongtheleadingedgeandoutthroughthereliefgroove.
Assolidscontinuetobuild-upinsidetheimpeller,motorthermalprotectioncantripcausingthepumptostop.Thisleadstocostlyunplannedservicecalls.
Ifaconventionalwastewaterpumprunsintermittently,thesolidsbuild-upwillberemovedbybackflushingwhenthepumpisshutoffattheendoftheoperatingcycle.Whennextcyclebegins,efficiencyreturnstoitsinitialvaluesincetheimpellerisfreefromsolidobjects(FigB).
